Join us in celebrating the NEW name of our sister Community Action Agency here in Maine! Formerly Aroostook Community Action Agency (ACAP), and then, after they became the Community Action agency in Downeast Maine, taking an interim name of Community Action in Aroostook, Washington and Hancock, they have settled on their new name moving forward.

Waldo CAP works closely with all of our sister CAP agencies across the state. There are nine agencies like Waldo CAP serving all the counties in Maine. We each offer many of the same programs and services, but each agency also responds in unique ways to their individual communities' needs. The new name for Community Action in Aroostook, Washington and Hancock represents the work of the organization with an appropriate cultural influence for the region it serves.

Congratulations to Avec Community Action. 'Avec' means "with" in French, and in Community Action, we work with people, so this is a very fitting name. Watch the video, learn a little of Maine's history and hear about the new name, and make sure you watch to the end so you can hear the great song about their work and name!
