Are you a farmer looking to purchase a farm property in Waldo county? Maine Farmland Trust is seeking a qualified farm buyer for a 26-acre farm in Montville (formerly home to True North Farms) through our Buy/Protect/Sell program. There are several fields, comprising approximately four acres in cultivation, which have been planted with either cash crops or cover crops over the past decade-plus. There is room to expand cultivated fields by roughly two acres and another approximately four acres suitable for hay and pasture.

MFT's goal is to have the property in active agricultural use within the next year and to transfer ownership within 1-2 years, either through a direct purchase or a short-term lease agreement that would lead to the purchase of the farm. The farmer buyer must also agree to protect the farm with an agricultural conservation easement.

Maine Farmland Trust is hosting an open house at the farm on April 10th from 12-2pm to allow potential buyers to see the property. Learn more about the property, how to RSVP for the open house, and what you'll need to submit a proposal (deadline: May 4th at 2pm) on our website: https://www.mainefarmlandtrust.org/request-for-proposals-true-north-farm
