Little River Church

Little River Church In a broken world, we will be the family of God to our community one relationship at a time. Welcome to Little River Church! We would love to meet you!

We are meeting in person as well as offering a Facebook live stream of our Sunday morning worship. We meet on Wednesday to share a simple spaghetti dinner, prayer and discussion of God's word. We are no longer requiring the wearing of masks per the Governors most recent update and are operating as normal. Given that there is still much concern surrounding COVID-19, we do ask that if you are not fe

eling well, that you join us via our online offerings, and take time to recover prior to joining us in person. You will find a high view of the word of God in our commitment to Christ-centered expositional teaching through the books of the Bible. We emphasize discipleship, and we're committed to gaining gospel fluency. Our worship is a mix of contemporary music and hymns. Our dress is casual so come as you are. We hope you enjoy your online experience and get a taste of what Little River is all about. All are welcome here. We would love to have you join us for any of our events or services. Please contact us with any questions you may have.

So many great thoughts came from C. S. Lewis . He struggled with what was real. Praise God that he thought about it all and wrote it down. God uses man to reach man. Jesus is the greatest example of this.

Daily Bible reading is a staple in the growth of the Christian. We are reading a chapter a day (essentially). Jump in now! After three years, you can go through the whole Bible!
So far, we have read about Moses, Pharaoh, the iconic quote "Let me people go!" and have gotten into some of the plagues that came as a result of Pharaoh not giving in to their demands. The phrase " that you may know that I am Lord" is repeated after each declaration of a new plague. This is not between Moses and Pharaoh. This is God taking on the battle for the sake of His people.

He will stop at nothing to make His name known. Every knee will bow- either in this life, or the afterlife. The next plaque is the most devastating. And is the turning point of the story as well as the foundation for the Passover which is celebrated every year thereafter among Jewish families. After Jesus's time on earth it was opened to any who would want to come under its promises.

KEEP READING YOUR BIBLE!

Exodus 1-3 is what you have read thus far this week. Last wee you covered some of Psalms and Proverbs. Todays post is about these first three chapters. Joseph's family had all moved to Egypt because of the famine and their family grew so much during the rest of Joseph's life there and beyond that the "Isrealites" are now seen as a threat to the people of Egpyt. So, that pharaoh, who did not know Joseph, is looking to keep that population under his thumb. He decides that to do that, he will order all the male babies to be killed as soon as they are born. How strong could a nation be with a whole generation of women without men? We now have Moses born- he gets saved from the infanticide. (with genocidal intentions) Keep reading to see how God uses Moses!

You have read almost 5% of the Bible now! Keep up the good work!
In the coming week- read on chapter a day.

God's confirmation of David's service to His people in the united kingdom revealed three themes. We also see those three themes expressed regarding the reign of Jesus.

Join us for morning worship today (8/23) as we continue our trip through 1 & 2 Samuel. Interim pastor Chris Quimby will camp out in 2 Samuel 5 as we consider evidence of David's establishment as king over God's people.

What similarities will we see between the shepherding expected of David and the care of our Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ?

The worship service starts at 10:30. Visitors will receive a sincere but not overwhelming welcome and find plenty of good seats to choose from.

Service ends around noontime. Children's church provided during the sermon time.

"The more we get what we now call "ourselves" out of the way and let Him (Jesus) take us over, the more truly ourselves we become. .. our real selves are all waiting for us in Him. It is not good trying to "be myself" without Him...Lose your life and you will save it... submit with every fiber of your being and you will find eternal life. Keep back nothing."
