Last Sunday, Gordon preached on the diversity of giftings within the church. Even within our small fellowship we are blessed with people who are different than each other.

Some bring organization, some planning. Others are big-picture thinkers and visionaries and others are faithful to make those things happen. This list of differences is long.

But one thing is the same, and that is the God who draws us all together and unites us as his body to serve and minister as one organism.

In a world of division, factions and competition, we have the opportunity to show unity in diversity by coming together to demonstrate that we are more than the sum of our parts, and that each of us are important.

And that we owe all of our importance to Jesus who is our head.

May we glorify God in our differences.

Small groups are a great way to build friendships and use some of our time outside of the church building more wisely.

For a few months some of us have met in Brooks on Monday evenings. This week we got to enjoy dinner, prayer and Bible study outside in perfect weather under beautiful skies.

On Sunday, (6/7), Pastor Jonathan sought the Scriptures to answer the question, "what is a church?"

Ephesians 2:11-22 was a useful passage in moving us toward the answer; "Christ’s reconciling peace ends our alienation, brings us into full belonging with God’s people, and builds us together into God’s dwelling place."

Join us tomorrow morning for something different. Our worship service will include a distinct focus on prayer as we engage with God in adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication.

Curious what these mean? Our service begins at 10:30 and visitors will be met with a warm but not overwhelming welcome.

We are fortunate to have (among many things) our own church property and building to use and care for. Thank you to all who came out to enjoy breakfast and work on the grounds on a beautiful Saturday!

Join us this morning (5/24) at 10:30 for worship. We believe by faith in the Biblical revelation of the Creator God who pursues his unfaithful image-bearers in love. It is right that we seek union with him and not isolation from him. We gather as a group on Sundays to share in this worship together.

Each Sunday, the service is fashioned to allow us to worship Jesus Christ, the Son of God, through fellowship, music, service-planning, generosity, prayer and attention to the Bible.

On this Sunday we will be in the third week of Pastor Jonathan's seven-week study of the church itself - not Little River per se, but God's worldwide collection of followers of Jesus - which certainly includes Little River.

This week we will consider the role of the congregation.

We love our regulars, and visitors should expect a warm but not overwhelming welcome among people who will be blessed by your presence.

Little River is appreciative to have added two more friends to our fellowship yesterday, Mark and Becky Hancock. Looking forward to serving Jesus alongside you!

Tomorrow morning, Pastor Jonathan continues his 7-week refresh on biblical ecclesiology, church leadership, church membership, church purpose/mission, etc. (what is the church, who leads the church, what does the church do, etc.)
