Our NAUW Literacy Committee members had a grand time Sunday evening at Delta Grand in Opelousas in support of Project Poetry “The Write Way.” Special thanks to our NAUW President and Literacy member, Jackie Gradnigo, Vice President, Jacinthia Mayon, and Past NAUW President, Madelyn Rosette, who served in many capacities at the event.

Literacy members in attendance were Melissa Kinnerson, Elsie Semien, LaTasha Benson, Julia Duplechain, Myla Lamelle, Perina LeDoux, Hazel Red and Renata Thomas.

Grief Management Workshop

NAUW St. Landry Branch 75th Diamond Anniversary Convention Recap

Members of the NAUW St. Landry Branch proudly traveled to Philadelphia to celebrate the 75th Diamond Anniversary National Convention of the National Association of University Women. It was an inspiring week of fellowship, learning, and service as we connected with sisters from across the United States.

From the Opening Plenary to the Closing Plenary, we conducted the business of NAUW with purpose and dedication. Delegates adopted new bylaws, raised awareness about leukemia, learned about Conflict Resolution and elected our new national officers, all while strengthening our commitment to the organization’s mission.

Of course, we also made time to laugh, celebrate, and create lasting memories together. As we return home, we do so renewed in our commitment to the NAUW mission of promoting education, leadership, and service in our communities. Philadelphia gave us memories to cherish, but our mission continues.

A special thank you to our dedicated delegates, Rachel Fruge Jones and Madelyn Rosette, for traveling to the convention and faithfully serving as representatives of our branch. Your commitment and willingness to serve are greatly appreciated.

It was an honor to represent the St. Landry Branch, and I look forward to bringing back valuable information and renewed inspiration as we continue to serve our community together.
