☀️ Summer fun + STEM = a pretty awesome morning!
East Baton Rouge 4-H recently stopped by Little Scholars – McKanstry Preparatory School’s summer program for a team-building challenge. Armed with nothing but pool noodles, creativity, and teamwork, students worked together to build an impressive tower!
There was plenty of problem-solving, laughter, and friendly competition as they figured out how to make their tower stand tall.
📸 Check out some highlights from our morning of summer fun!

STATE CHAMPIONS!!! 🍀🏆
What a journey for this group of girls. This year was their first time competing in Division III, and they rose to the challenge every single step of the way. From practices and recipe trials to competition day nerves and teamwork under pressure, they put in the work — and it paid off in a BIG way! 💚🍽️
Our EBR 4-H Food Challenge Team earned 1st Place in Division III and will now represent Louisiana 4-H this September at the National Food Challenge Contest at the State Fair of Texas! 🤩
More than the awards, we are proud of the confidence, leadership, teamwork, and determination these girls showed throughout the season. Watching them grow together as a team has been such a special experience.
Texas, here they come! ⭐👏

🌟 Senior Spotlight🌟
East Baton Rouge Parish 4‑H is proud to recognize Rory Lee F., a Class of 2026 senior from Central Private, who has been part of 4‑H for an incredible 10 years.
Rory’s passion for livestock has shaped her entire 4‑H journey. One of her biggest highlights was at the 2026 LSU State Livestock Show, where she won Grand Champion Angus Bull, Grand Champion Hereford Bull, and Supreme Overall Bull, along with Reserve Overall Senior Showman. A true powerhouse in the show ring.
She shared that 4‑H has helped her grow into a hardworking, goal‑driven young woman with the determination to chase her dreams — qualities she’ll carry with her long after graduation.
After high school, Rory plans to attend cosmetology/esthetician school, bringing that same dedication and work ethic into a new chapter.
Rory’s high school accomplishments are just as impressive:
• A‑Honor Roll
• Miss CPS
• Multiple LSU State Grand Champion titles
• Darbonne Team Fitting Scholarship
• 1st Team All‑District Volleyball
• Senior Homecoming Court
• National Junior Angus Association Bronze & Silver Awards
• Volleyball District Champions (2021–2023)
• Competed at Houston Livestock Show, NAILE, and State Fair of Louisiana
• Team Fitting – 1st Place
• NJAA Photography Contest – 1st & 3rd Place
• Champion Team Roping (2021)
• LJC Showmanship Champion (15‑year‑old & 17‑year‑old divisions)
Her three words for 4‑H: Love of Livestock!
Her advice to younger members: “Never be afraid to go after what you desire. If you enjoy animals, give it a go — livestock will teach you so many life lessons.”
Help us celebrate Rory and all she’s accomplished. We can’t wait to see what she does next. 💚✨

🌟 Senior Spotlight🌟
East Baton Rouge Parish 4‑H is excited to celebrate Tamia W., a proud member of the Class of 2026 from Madison Preparatory Academy.
Tamia has been in 4‑H for four years, and one of her favorite memories is heading to JLC, stepping out of her comfort zone, and meeting new people — all while helping the pink team take the win. She said it felt like being on Camp Kikiwaka, full of fun and teamwork.
Tamia shared that 4‑H helped her grow more confident, focused, and grounded in her purpose. Her love for agriculture started with her "Momo" when she was little, and 4‑H helped her carry that passion forward.
After graduation, Tamia is headed to Howard University to major in Biology with a minor in Agriculture, with plans to continue on to medical school.
She’s also leaving behind an impressive high school legacy:
• SGA President & Vice President
• President of National Honor Society
• Dean’s & Principal’s List
• Track & Powerlifting medalist
• Helped start 4‑H at her school
• Active volunteer at school events
Her three words for 4‑H: Incredible, Nourishing, Adaptable.
Her advice to younger members: “Get dirty — not just physically, but by doing the work. You can achieve anything through God and hard work.”
Help us congratulate Tamia on all she’s accomplished and cheer her on as she begins her next chapter. 💚✨
