The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge is hosting a FREE artist talk this Saturday featuring the artists behind “Breath of God: A Love Letter to Black Men and Black Women.” 🎨

The photography and mixed-media exhibition celebrates Black identity through works exploring culture, community and personal experiences.

Saturday’s gallery talk gives visitors an opportunity to hear directly from the artists about their work, creative process and the stories behind the exhibition.

Join us this Saturday at the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center to experience a Breath of God: A Love Letter to Black Men and Black Women. Artist talk with Ashli Ognelodh Curry and Jacquel Curry starts at 2 PM.

The capital area is invited to an artist talk for a discussion hoping to change the narrative surrounding Black love.

Photographer Jacquel Curry and multidisciplinary artist Ashli Ognelodh Curry have created something truly special in the Shell Gallery and we want you to experience it for yourself.

Come out this Saturday, August 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM for the Artist Talk and hear directly from Jacquel and Ashli about their work, their process, and the love letter they have written through these pieces. This is the kind of conversation you do not want to miss. Free and open to the public.

New school year, same dedication to arts education.

Every Tuesday this year, teaching artist DaQuon Smith will be at The Emerge Center, working with students on original art projects, all building toward a culminating art show for parents next spring.
