Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank Our mission is to feed people experiencing hunger in Baton Rouge & surroundings parishes. When it comes to senior hunger, Louisiana is third in the nation.

Did you know that 1 in 7 people experience food insecurity in Louisiana? Louisiana leads the nation in childhood hunger too, with 1 in 5 children being food insecure. The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank has been working to reduce these statistics since 1984. As an affiliate of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks and food rescue organizations, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank provides food to more than 100 partnered agencies across our 11-parish service area. In 2021, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank distributed over 16.7 million meals. If you’d like to help grow this number, just $1 can help to provide up to 3 meals.

We’re one step closer to getting Groceries on the Geaux Mobile Market on the road and serving neighbors across our community! The Mobile Market will travel to areas where access to fresh, nutritious food can be limited, making regular stops at community centers where neighbors can shop for fresh produce, proteins and shelf-stable foods.

Groceries on the Geaux is made possible through the generous support of CF Industries, Jera Co., Inc. and Mitsui & Co.

A special thank you to the team at Cruising Kitchens for transforming this truck into our Mobile Market and to the team at Xdesign, Inc. for bringing our logo and artwork to life.
