Dorcas of Baton Rouge reaches China!

We were able to send dresses for children in China. While our original goal was to donate the dresses to an orphanage, the orphanage was unable to accept donations. We were delighted when the opportunity arose for us to give the dresses to young families in an underground Christian church. This church meets in secret and these young families are struggling financially, but are striving to raise their children in the faith, despite risk of arrest and imprisonment. The families were overwhelmed and encouraged that fellow Christians in the United States would design and sew these beautiful dresses for their daughters. Thank you to Dorcas Baton Rouge to be able to show Christ’s love to the world.

Pudimos mandar vestidos a China. Nuestro objetivo original era donarlos a un orfanato, y nos alegró mucho cuando surgió la oportunidad de entregar los vestidos a familias jóvenes de una iglesia cristiana clandestina. Esta iglesia se reúne en secreto. Estas familias jóvenes atraviesan dificultades económicas, pero se esfuerzan por criar a sus hijos en la fe, a pesar del riesgo de ser arrestadas y encarceladas. Las familias se sintieron profundamente conmovidas y animadas al saber que otros cristianos en Estados Unidos diseñarían y confeccionarían estos hermosos vestidos para sus hijas. Gracias a Dorcas Baton Rouge de poder mostrar el amor de Cristo al mundo.

Aqui estan estas hermosas fotos de nuestra ropa, que marcan una diferencia tan maravillosa en la vida de las mujeres y los niños de Myanmar. El pastor Jorn pudo viajar la semana pasada y nos las trajo. La iglesia nos rsvribio esto, “¡Muchísimas gracias por el tiempo y el cariño que dedicaste a la confección de esta hermosa ropa y por pensar en nuestra iglesia y en la obra misionera que realizan allí al enviárnoslas! Te queremos mucho y esperamos que puedas compartir esta alegría con otros a través de las fotos. ¡Se me llenaron los ojos de lágrimas al ver sus sonrisas!”

Good morning Mona! I wanted to send you these beautiful photos of your clothes, making such a wonderful difference in the lives of the women and children in Myanmar! Our church had not sent anyone for over a year so I apologize that it’s been a long time in giving you these photos. Pastor Jorn our associate pastor, was finally able to make the trip last week and just sent me these photos this morning! Thank you so much for the time and love that went into making these beautiful clothes and for thinking of our church and the mission work they do there by sending these them to us! We love you so much and hope you are able to share this joy with others through the photos! It made me tear up, seeing the smiles on their faces!
