East Baton Rouge Council on Aging (EBRCOA) Supporting Independence ~ Serving Seniors The East Baton Rouge Council on the Aging's mission is simple: Supporting Independence -- Serving Seniors."

Currently, there are MORE than 2500 seniors presently on the waiting list for Meals on Wheels -- with this number increasing EVERYDAY! Donations of ALL kinds are being accepted and can be made online at www.ebrcoa.org. Additionally: in a continuing, year-round effort aiding this GROWING population, the EBRCOA currently offers its "Feed-A-Senior" program -- enabling donors to feed a senior for a day, month or even a WHOLE year.

THIS is what it means to be a Lifeline for Seniors.πŸ’™ πŸ’œ

While delivering meals to our seniors on Wednesday, Ms. Kim Lewis arrived at a senior’s home and discovered the senior had fallen and was on the floor.

Kim immediately sprang into action. She contacted emergency responders, notified her manager, and stayed with the senior until help arrived. She made sure the senior received the assistance needed, then promptly followed up with her manager to share the outcome.

Kim, thank you for going above and beyond when it mattered most. Your quick thinking, compassion, and dedication reflect the heart of our mission to protect and serve seniors across our parish.

JOB WELL DONE, KIM!

We are proud of you, Kim, for being a true Lifeline for Seniors and for showing us what Lotus Love in action looks like!

EBRCOA is conducting a Louisiana Statewide Community Needs Assessment to learn more about the needs of seniors and how we can better serve our communities.

Next week we will visit each senior center to speak directly with you about the Needs Assessment Survey and why we are encouraging everyone to complete the survey.

Check the schedule to see when we will be at your senior center!

Your feedback will help shape the programs, services, and resources available to seniors across our community.
