Kids' Orchestra Our mission is to build a community of creative, confident, and socially engaged students.

Kids’ Orchestra serves elementary-age students through afterschool music education across East Baton Rouge Parish. We provide children in our community with the opportunity to study music, learn an instrument, and perform for audiences.

2026 marks our fifth year partnering with Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra for the Pathways to Public Performance Art program to provide some of our students with high-quality private music lessons free of charge.

Thank you, BRSO, for helping us to create a pipeline of young musicians that will contribute to the Baton Rouge musical community through performances, education, and advocacy. It has been incredible to see the success of this pipeline as many of these students have earned positions in BRSO's Louisiana Youth Orchestra and Louisiana Junior Youth Orchestra.

👏🏻 🎶 We want to take a moment to shout out our good friends and longtime collaborators – Doug Gay and the crew at Baton Rouge Music Studios. Doug and his team are thoughtful, creative, and energetic in everything that they do. We love Doug because he is intentional. IYKYK. When he is in – he is all in. KO Harmony Collective and Biscuits and Gravy performed at two major public events and came together for a recording session at the new BRMS Creative Studio. Thanks to Doug Gay at BRMS Creative (Garrett, Trevor, and all the rest of the staff at BRMS who have helped us time and time again) for all that you do to support the young musicians of Baton Rouge! 👏🏻 🎶

🎶 As summer continues, we wanted to take a moment to shoutout a few more events that happened this past Spring! In early May, we held 3 Private Lesson Recitals and a Scholarship Fundraising Reception for our KO@Home students at Broadmoor Baptist Church. 42 students gave extremely polished and musical performances, showing off all the progress they made with their incredible teachers! 🎶

🌈 That’s a wrap on Week 4 of Summer Camp: Beyond the Rainbow! Students were given many opportunities to explore each color of the rainbow through music and dance, bringing emotions of art to life. What a colorful and fun way to close out our time at camp! 🌈

Highlights of the week include:
• An intro to conducting with the awesome Dr. Travis Higa
• Exploring the music of Fantasia 2000 and playing songs with boomwhackers with Ms. Callie Ancelet
• An opportunity to learn about Color Guard and play color-coded music games with Ms. Ashley Kavanaugh
•A field to the LSU Museum of Art
•One last amazing end-of-week concert!
