Stand for Children Louisiana Stand for Children is a unique catalyst for education equity and racial justice, to create a brighter future for us all.

Our Vision

We believe ALL children deserve an equal opportunity to succeed in life. Education is the key that unlocks the door to success. Far too many children, through no fault of their own, aren’t getting the education they need to make it in life. We are passionately committed to righting this wrong.

Stand for Children has made the hard decision to discontinue its advocacy efforts in Louisiana. We are pleased to note that the Center for High School Success’s exceptional work in helping district and public charter high schools across Louisiana increase the number of students who finish their make-or-break ninth-grade year on track will continue its great work.

We could not be more grateful for all we have accomplished over the past fifteen years, the relationships and partnerships we have built with you, and impact for students and families we achieved together.

Please continue to stay connected with us at Stand for Children and join us in the ongoing efforts toward an equitable education for all.

This year, YOU made a difference for students, educators, and families throughout the State of Louisiana.
Some accomplishments we made together in EBR in 2023 include:

🎤 Advocated for teacher pay raise at state and in East Baton Rouge Parish.

💰Protecting $6.6 million secured for literacy and math coaches and funding for over 1,000 new early ed seats in East Baton Rouge that led to a 17% increase in 2nd grade reading proficiency

📚 Raising literacy rates in East Baton Rouge by 3-5% annually by supporting implementation of EBR Literacy Blueprint.

🦁 The return of Capitol High School as a healthcare focus choice pathway and with CHSS work to get more kids on track by end of 9th grade.

And so much more!!!
