📢 The People First Lake Charles Chapter was busy last Thursday!

Some of our members attended the Mayor’s Commission on Disability meeting and got to see the new accessible seating updates at the Lake Charles Event Center.

We are excited to see the community becoming more accessible and inclusive for everyone. 💙♿

This week, IL staff Ivery Lewis spoke at the Webster Parish Veterans Safety Net Mental Health Awareness Resource Fair in Minden. She shared how planning ahead, having the right tools, and knowing what resources are available before a disaster strikes keeps families and veterans safe.

📣 People First of Louisiana is growing in Northwest Louisiana! People First empowers people with disabilities to speak up, build leadership skills, and create positive change. They are currently looking for self-advocates interested in joining, with the first meeting planned for September.
