Day three of our extraordinary weekend with our First Nations relatives for the Wabanaki Cultural Exchange. We toured the Odanak Reserve and the Abenaki Museum. There is so much history here. It’s incredible to see how long our ancestors have been here. To think about Wabanaki territory and how far it extends is incredible.

Wabanaki Cultural Exchange day two! We had another wonderful welcome in the W8linak community. We were led Yves Landry who talked to us about Abenaki territory near the Kchitegw(Saint Lawrence River). Julie Landry gave us a tour of the reserve. Later in the day Jacques Watso and Chief Rick Obomsawin told us about the wampum belts held by the community.

We’re looking forward to seeing you all at Nibezun tomorrow morning!
