THREAD helps under-performing high school students overcome significant barriers outside of the classroom and become self-motivated, resilient, and responsible citizens. Each student is matched with a team of committed volunteers for 10 years and provided access to community resources to foster academic advancement and personal growth. BALTIMORE CORPS enlists talented leaders to advance Baltimore’s most promising social innovations and establish a citywide agenda for equity and racial justice. Baltimore Corps is known for its Fellowship program, matching talent to opportunity through its Place for Purpose program, and providing support to innovative leaders through its Elevation Awards. CENTER FOR URBAN FAMILIES (CFUF) strengthens urban communities by helping fathers and families achieve stability and economic success. CFUF is a leading voice in the national conversation on responsible fatherhood, a successful advocate for child support reform in Maryland and a support network for Baltimore’s most vulnerable citizens. THE GREATER MONDAWMIN COORDINATING COUNCIL provides service and advocacy for improved literacy, housing, educational, recreational, workforce, and cultural opportunities for people who live and work within its geographic boundaries. CORPORATE PARTNERS:
BGE, for more than 200 years, has played an integral role in strengthening central Maryland communities by harnessing the collective power of employees, customers and local and national partners. BGE focuses on implementing innovative approaches to economic development, public safety and other civic issues that can create positive change in the neighborhoods it serves. THE WHITING-TURNER CONTRACTING COMPANY, since 1909, has helped to build communities by engaging with project owners, designers, trade contractors, and end users. Whiting-Turner and its employees draw on their collaborative spirit to partner with organizations to strategically address some of the nation’s most challenging issues.
