Center for Urban Families Alumni

Center for Urban Families Alumni CFUF recognizes the need to deliver a consistent support system for each of our clients, even after direct program enrollment. Building a Strong Alumni Network.

The Center for Urban Families' Alumni page is a resource to keep alumni engaged and to inform alumni of current services, programs, and events that are exclusive to CFUF graduates! Through our innovative Alumni Services component, CFUF is able to galvanize a network of trained graduates a positive force throughout their various Baltimore City communities, providing critical support and access to r

esources as our graduates continue on the path towards greater upward mobility and self‐fulfillment. The work of the Alumni Services department falls into the following core areas:

Goal: To provide CFUF alumni with the resources and support to continue to develop into leaders within their family and reach family stability and economic success.

1. Maintaining a Strong Connection to Our Alumni. CFUF commits to a minimum two-year period in graduate case management follow-up. To maintain this commitment, the Alumni Services Department works tirelessly to foster a sustained connection to each of our program graduates, keeping alumni records up to date and re-establishing relationships with disengaged graduates.

2. Providing Resources to Promote Client Progression. CFUF believes that continued access to resources, knowledge and supports is critical to sustaining the forward progress of our program graduates. Therefore, the Alumni Services Department provides graduate access to a wide variety of tools and resources, including job retention tips and job postings, online message boards and discussion forums, an Alumni Directory, peer-to-peer mentoring, facilitated referrals to supportive service and community partners, and educational workshops and seminars.

3. Ensuring the Quality of CFUF’s Services. Through its Impact Assessment tool, the Alumni Services Department regularly captures graduate feedback to assess the quality and effectiveness of CFUF’s programs and services. This feedback is used to inform program and service enhancements.

4. The Alumni Services Department works to network our alumni into a community of individuals committed to strengthening their families and continuing on the path to greater economic self-sufficiency. To this end, the Alumni Services program offers social and professional networking events, opportunities for graduate volunteerism and community engagement, and structured peer-to-peer mentoring.
