Thank you everyone who donated to help sweet Lady. She has been through so much in her life already - wandering the street as a pregnant Mom, raising healthy puppies (who have wonderful adopters), heartworm treatment, and now this.

We can still reach our goal....no donation is too small.

❤️ LADY DESERVES HER CHANCE❤️

Lady's story began on the streets of South Carolina.

She was pregnant and wandering alone just before a hurricane when a Good Samaritan found her and brought her to safety.

Soon afterward, Lady gave birth to 8 puppies.

When All Shepherd Rescue heard about this little family in need, we brought Lady and her 2 week old puppies to Maryland.

Lady had done everything she could to keep her babies safe.

❤️ All 8 puppies grew up and found wonderful homes.

Now we want the same happy ending for their mom.

Since raising her puppies, Lady has survived heartworm treatment and undergone surgery for a mammary tumor. Unfortunately, another mammary mass has appeared and is growing rapidly, along with several smaller masses.

Lady now needs surgery estimated at $6,300.

Once Lady has her surgery and recovers, we hope we can finally find her wonderful forever home, too.

She took care of her babies. Now it's our turn to take care of Lady.

❤️ LADY DESERVES HER CHANCE ❤️

Lady has already overcome more than most dogs should ever have to face.

🐾 She survived life as a stray on the streets of a South Carolina town.
🐾 She raised her puppies - who were rescued and adopted through ASR.
🐾 She survived heartworm and completed treatment.
🐾 She has already undergone surgery for a mammary tumor.

And now Lady needs us again.

Another mammary mass has appeared and is growing rapidly, along with several smaller masses. Lady needs surgery to remove them, and the estimated cost is $6,300.

Through everything Lady has endured, she has remained the same sweet, loving and trusting girl.

She fought to survive on the streets.
She took care of her puppies.
She made it through heartworm treatment and her first tumor surgery.

She deserves the chance to fight this, too.

Another Follow up Friday means another update from one of our ASR alumni, Korra, and this girl is clearly living her best life!

Her family tells us she has adjusted beautifully and has become a certified “ball-chasing fool.” Sounds like if the decision were hers, fetch would be an all day, every day activity!

She’s also met her family’s daughter’s dog and wasted no time making it clear who was in charge. She has completed her training classes, too, adding a little polish to all that personality.

And her family finally got an answer to a question they’d been wondering about. They sent off her DNA expecting that perhaps there might be a little Lab or Malinois mixed in. The result? 100% German Shepherd! Nothing else. Surprise!

According to her family, “She’s a beautiful girl - the problem is, she knows it.”

We think that confidence looks pretty good on her! It makes us so happy to see another ASR dog settled in, loved, and keeping her family entertained.

Marshall is ready for his happily ever after!

Located in Maryland.

At 2 years old and 65 pounds, Marshall is a handsome black and tan German Shepherd with a friendly personality, playful spirit and so much love to give.

Marshall’s story began with heartbreak when he was abandoned in an empty lot and left to fend for himself. Thankfully, he was found relatively quickly, and those difficult days are now behind him. Despite what he went through, Marshall hasn’t let it change the way he feels about people. He has been friendly and social and genuinely enjoys spending time with his humans.

Marshall is also good with other dogs and loves to play. He’s crate trained, affectionate, intelligent, eager to please and wonderfully even tempered, with just the right amount of goofy Shepherd personality mixed in. He’s currently working on his basic leash manners and will benefit from a family who will continue showing him the consistency and guidance every young Shepherd needs.

While we don’t yet know how Marshall is with children, we believe he would likely do well with respectful children over the age of five.

More than anything, Marshall is simply a really nice dog who deserves someone committed to showing him the love, security and companionship he should have had all along. If you’re looking for a devoted German Shepherd to share your adventures and your heart, Marshall may be the perfect match.

Meet Smuckers! 85 pounds of handsome, happy Shepherd!

Located in Maryland.

At 4 years old and 85 pounds, Smuckers is a big, handsome German Shepherd with a calm, affectionate personality and a name that comes with a pretty funny story. When he arrived at the shelter as a stray, he somehow had jelly on his tail - and just like that, Smuckers had his name!

Smuckers is an easygoing, loving guy who enjoys attention and spending time with his people. He’s affectionate, intelligent, eager to please and has a wonderfully even tempered personality. He’s also got a goofy side that makes him that much more lovable.

He has done well with female German Shepherds and is crate trained and obedient. Smuckers has also been working with ASR volunteers on his leash skills and is making progress as he gets ready for life with his future family.

At 4 years old, Smuckers is past the puppy stage but still has plenty of adventures ahead of him. After arriving as a stray, this sweet boy deserves to know what it feels like to truly belong. He’s ready to trade his shelter days for walks, companionship, affection and a family to call his own.
