📢 Professional Training Day: Financial Literacy & Empowerment 💼💰

Today’s session is all about leveling up our knowledge in filing taxes, credit changes in today’s world, and practical tools for aligning income vs. debt — and that’s just the beginning!

We’re diving into the core foundations of financial literacy and exploring the full range of services available to support both personal and business financial development.

Let’s give a warm welcome to Mr. Bernard, who’s joining us to lead this powerful presentation focused on building financial independence and long-term success. 💡👏

Did we discuss the importance of following rules? YESSSSS.
Because your freedom and your success depend on it.

We talked about:
✔️ Following rules and supervision requirements
✔️ Creating and maintaining a supportive network
✔️ Asking for help when you need it
✔️ Reporting changes so resources can stay aligned with your goals

Accountability is not punishment — it is protection. It protects your freedom, your progress, and your future.

A special thank you to our entrepreneurial experts who poured into our community — sharing knowledge on contracts, business certifications, procurement opportunities, and problem-solving through purpose-driven company ideas and mindset. Access to opportunity changes outcomes.

Grateful for the continued partnership with R.I.D.E. Program — you never fail us. Thank you, Ms. Frisby, for your consistency and commitment.

Thank you to Maryland Department of General Services for breaking down the importance of understanding state systems and the various levels of access to long-term sustainability. And thank you, Sean Stinnett, for helping our participants see how preparation meets opportunity.

We do this together. Freedom requires responsibility. Success requires structure. And community makes it sustainable.

Reentry work cannot be done alone.

No Struggle No Success Inc is a full-service reentry program — and to truly provide quality services, we must stay connected. Collaboration gives our justice-impacted participants MORE options, MORE opportunities, and REAL second chances.

If we think we can do this reentry work alone, we’re already limiting impact.

Huge shoutout to Avery and the entire team at Mayor’s Office of Employment Development at the Eastside Career Center 👏🏾 for:

✔️ Hosting mock interviews
✔️ Assisting with resume development
✔️ Providing honest, constructive feedback
✔️ Supporting one of our participants who received SIX job offers

After being let go two weeks into employment due to record inaccuracies (reflecting his offense as if it occurred at release instead of 27 years ago), he didn’t give up. With his CDL earned through NsNs vocational training and continued advocacy, MOED helped connect him to an employer willing to see the man — not just the paperwork.

Prayers and praises 🙏🏾 We can’t wait until it’s official!

This is what collaboration looks like.
This is what second chances require.
This is how we build a reentry-friendly recovery workplace.

Thank you MOED for your partnership. Together we are changing narratives. 💙💚

Today in Baltimore County, Maryland, NsNs stood on history.

We supported our first Second Look Act case in Baltimore County, and just yesterday, our first Baltimore City Second Look case was heard.

NsNs proudly stands with the families and the Second Chance Coalition as we continue to advocate for the voices behind the wall — individuals who entered the legal system between ages 18–24 and have served 20+ years.

We send strength, peace, and hope to everyone awaiting decisions, and we remain committed to walking this journey with you.

👏🏽 Cheering on NsNs as we move forward with purpose.

January – Early February Impact Snapshot:
• 12 new referrals received
• 4 parole cases
• 3 second look cases
• 2 delayed releases
• 4 mandatory releases
• 18 reentry interviews scheduled (now through July)
• 5 releases scheduled
• Active caseload: 81 in the community keep pushing

Second chances save lives.
Reentry is possible.
Hope is active.
