🎉We are so excited to share that we are one of 260 grantees chosen for a 2022 AARP Community Challenge grant from AARP Livable Communities and AARP Maryland! Collaborating with Red Shed Gardeners, we envisioned The Red Shed Garden (Saint Paul St between 20th and 21st) also home to Red Shed Village, becoming more accessible, welcoming, and friendly to all neighbors. The grant will go toward creation of a pathway, gathering spaces at accessible picnic tables and under a canopy, a rain garden, and solar lighting. To find out more about the program and other grantees, check out www.aarp.org/CommunityChallenge.

This evening an angelic visit bearing the most delicious home-cooked meal! Seriously the chicken was to die for, and a scrumptious polenta corn pudding! Thank you Carol! The blessings we receive from community are so encouraging and help us to keep building our dream. At campfire meeting staff and Villagers checked in, then we reflected on Rumi’s poem “The Guest House.” We spent time reviewing the week, sharing updates, and then closed in prayer: “We thank you God for the opportunity to live another day, to shape our lives by Grace, and to shine your light into places that are yearning for the sun.”
