A heartfelt thank you to Abenaque Chapter #745 Order of the Eastern Star, State of New York, for inviting our Associate Executive Director to participate in your special celebration honoring Veterans across Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, and Montgomery Counties.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share the mission of Veterans & Community Housing Coalition and discuss the vital work we do to support homeless and at-risk Veterans and their families, especially Veteran mothers and their children through programs like Foreverly House.

It was an honor to join fellow guest speakers, Veteran advocates, and community supporters for such a meaningful evening dedicated to recognizing those who have served our nation.

We are also deeply appreciative of your generous donation of $125 to support our mission. Your kindness and commitment to our Veterans help us continue providing housing, support services, and hope to those who need it most.

We were thrilled to participate in the 57th Annual Elks Flag Day Parade on Saturday, hosted by the Saratoga-Wilton Elks #161!

This year's parade was especially meaningful as we joined our community in celebrating the 250th birthday of our great nation and honoring the American flag and all it represents. It was wonderful to see so many community members come together in a spirit of patriotism, pride, and gratitude.

Thank you to the Saratoga-Wilton Elks for organizing this longstanding tradition and for their continued support of Veterans and our community. We were honored to be a part of such a special day!

Have you met Johanna?

Johanna is our Director of Community Housing, and for years she has been a compassionate, steady source of support for the Veterans we serve.

One female Army Veteran shared that after experiencing a housing crisis in 2018, she was preparing to live in her car when she came to VCHC and met Johanna. Through compassion, understanding, and unwavering support, Johanna helped her secure stable housing, and helped her remain housed through years of financial and employment challenges related to PTSD.

Stories like these are a reminder that housing support is about more than shelter. It’s about having someone who truly cares standing beside you during difficult times.

Thank you, Johanna, for the incredible difference you make in the lives of Veterans every day.
