This week, we are proud to highlight the five incredible Veterans who will be honored at our 11th Annual Veterans Ball!

First up: Bethany Hicks

Raised in a small town in Central New York, Bethany pursued her education at the University at Albany and The College of Saint Rose before joining the United States Army in 2000. Stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, she served as a paralegal and administrative assistant, ultimately achieving the rank of E-5 Sergeant. Her military service included recognition for her contributions to Operation Enduring Freedom and other military programs.

Following her military service, Bethany continued her commitment to helping others through her work at SUNY Empire. Today, she serves as Assistant Director of Military Academic and Student Services at the Veteran and Military Resource Center, supporting military-connected students as they navigate their educational journeys. She also serves as an advisor to the Student Veterans and Military Club and supports the Student Veterans of America.

Service has always been an important part of Bethany’s life. From volunteering abroad and supporting families in need to mentoring youth and volunteering with the Regional Food Bank, she has consistently found ways to make a difference. She is also active in her church, the Saratoga County Veterans Business Council, and the Saratoga County PFC Dwyer Veteran Peer Support Program.

Please join us in celebrating Bethany Hicks for her military service, dedication to supporting fellow Veterans, and continued commitment to strengthening her community. We’re honored to recognize her at this year’s Veterans Ball!
