The state-champion Ballston Spa Middle School Odyssey of the Mind team, which we supported with $400 in travel funding, placed 10th in the world finals in their problem late last week in Iowa City, Iowa. CONGRATULATIONS to them!

The Ballston Spa Rotary Club this morning presented a check to the state champion Ballston Spa Middle School Odyssey of the Mind team to support their trip to World Competition later this month in Iowa. Rotary is very much about supporting our students and the future!

Come join us tomorrow morning as we perform our annual spring cleanup in the village parks.

We start at 9AM in Wiswall Park and then venture over to the Veterans Park. We also typically make a trip down to Kelley Park while some friends work on Tedisco Trail.

Our friends, the Ballston Spa Lions Club have a group that works on Old Iron Springs.

Some breakfast goodies will be available.
Bring your rakes and gloves.
All are welcome.

The annual Ballston Spa Village Park Cleanup will be this Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. at Wiswall Park from Front Street. The public is invited to join Rotarians and members of the Lions Club as we rake and remove winter debris from Wiswall Park, Old Iron Spring Park, the Tedisco Trail and Kelley Park. Bring gloves, rakes, trash bags -- all are welcome!

Club President Stephen Williams on Thursday presented the Ballston Spa High School Interact Club with $700 in gift cards to support the Scotties Closet food pantry and Interact programs.

Winter is never kind to parks, and that has been one LONG winter.

But Spring is at hand, and Rotarians and community members will work together on Saturday, April 18, to clean the winter debris from Ballston Spa’s village parks: Wiswall Park, Kelley Park, Veterans Memorial Park, Old Iron Springs Park, and the Tedisco Trail. (The rain date will be April 25.)

Each year, our club membership gets together with other organizations and individuals to do this important work, which makes our parks cleaner and safer as the outdoor season starts. Anyone can join us, just be at a park at 9 a.m. with a rake, clippers, gloves, wheelbarrows, a trash bag if you can — anything that will help. Many hands will make it quick work.

❤️🍗 Thank You, Ballston Spa Rotary Friends🍗❤️

Our Shake Off the Chill Chicken BBQ became a success in a truly meaningful way.

After all meals were picked up, the remaining dinners purchased by the club — 167 meals — were donated to LifeWorks Community Action to help provide warm meals to neighbors in need. Turning leftovers into nourishment for others is what community service is all about.

Thank you to everyone who purchased a meal, shared our posts, or supported the event in any way.

A very special thank you to the BSHS Interact students and their advisors for cheerfully assisting with delivering meals to our drive-through patrons, and to Clean Green Hauling & Removal for directing traffic and keeping everything running smoothly.

Service above self was on full display. We are grateful for this caring community.
