Nueces Mosque Nueces Mosque is a Muslim place of worship that was founded by the UT Muslim Students' Association in 1977.

Located in the heart of Austin, it serves the diverse population of downtown Austin as well as students from The University of Texas at Austin. Nueces Mosque is a Muslim place of worship that was founded and continues to run upon the way of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama`ah (The Way of the Prophetic Sunnah and all of the Honorable Sahabah (rady Allah anhum)). Nueces Mosque was founded by the UT Musl

im Students' Association in 1977 and was the first mosque in Austin. Located in the heart of Austin, it serves the diverse population of downtown Austin as well as students from The University of Texas and Austin Community College. Nueces Mosque is run by an executive committee comprised of college students and a Board of Directors comprised of professionals. Nueces has many programs and services, including weekly educational and Islamic events, service events, and interfaith events.
