It’s Galloween!

Come hang out with us for a cozy evening of pumpkin candle making and snacks.

We will make something cute, eat something sweet, and spend a little time with good people.

Join us on Monday, October 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Vesper for our Theology for Wanderers meeting at Vox Veniae.

We are spiritual community that seeks to embody Christ while respecting the beauty and mystery of the shared adventure. We’ll always be a place where belonging comes before belief, and where we embrace the paradoxical pluralism of the historical Christian tradition.

We live in a culture where being in a church means shopping and consuming community. We invite you into a beautiful alternative, Liturgy, which means “the work of the people.” Find your plot of the garden within the community and the world we live in and get your hands dirty. We welcome you as co-creators to become the hands and feet of Christ. Cultivate your soul, help us hold space for the spiritual journey of others, and lean into the literal call to care for and serve the earth we belong to. (1 Cor 12)

This week as we watch things flow through our lives, may we practice the holy work of releasing control. And within that practice, may we find the goodness of God.

Registration is officially open for our Fall Retreat! We’ll be heading back to the Texas Hill Country at H-E-B Foundation Camp November 13-15 for a weekend together as a community. Throughout the weekend there will be sessions, contemplative practices, group activities, bonfires, hiking, time for kids, and plenty of space to simply slow down and be together.

We’d love for you to sign up early so we can start planning housing meals, and everything else that goes into the weekend.

For the next six weeks, we will move through our Fall Vision Series at Vox, “Tethered to Belonging: A Theology for Wanderers, Skeptics, and Believers.”

Join us each Sunday as we hear from a diverse range of voices in our community and explore theological teachings of great importance to the Christian tradition. Rather than presenting a prescribed set of beliefs that one must hold in order to belong, or offering a comprehensive theological stance, we will offer our reflections through three lenses:

The larger Christian tradition: What have those who came before us said about these topics? What have other cultures and traditions offered?

The larger Vox tradition: What have we held in practice as central to our faith and liturgy?

Our personal faith: Where do you find yourself within these theological traditions? What is meaningful to you personally?

Where might the Spirit be moving gently in your life, unseen but felt?

Sacred Ordinary: a series in partnership with our scholar in residence, Dr. Lynn Osgood, explores the theology of the made world, the spaces that we create and that create us in return.
