Austin Cinemaker Space

10/01/2026

Artists need time to learn and a supportive space to fail, along with the freedom to experiment in a place that champions stranger, tender, radical work!

Meet the 16 new faces and the 8 returning artists as part of our Artist Access Program (AAP) ⭐️.

09/18/2026

We spent the day getting to know the 16 artists joining us from October through March. Over six months, they’ll work alongside our team at Cinemaker Studios and Austin School of Film, supporting classes, studio members, and events while building real production skills.

Here’s a look at their first three months:
⭐️October: Studio training and hands-on equipment skills
⭐️November: Research projects & Austin Studio Tour
⭐️December: Two weeks of mock shoots and productions with local talent.

And that’s just the beginning. We have even more planned for this cohort in 2027!

Along the way, each artist receives:
⭐️$2,000 Education Fund for Austin School of Film classes
⭐️ full year membership to Cinemaker
⭐️ Hands-on training in studio operations, equipment, and production

No degree or credentials required. Artist Access is one of MMAC’s six free Artist Pathway programs.

🚩Applications for the next cycle (April to September 2027) open in January 2027.

Thank you to City of Austin, Texas Commission on the Arts and National Endowment f/t Arts - without their support, this program would not exist!
