That’s cute.

Meanwhile, the “girls” are organizing communities, leading campaigns, changing policy, mentoring others, and building something bigger than themselves.

People have been underestimating formerly incarcerated women and gender expansive people for a long time. We suggest they stop.

We’re not the side story. We’re the force of nature. 🤍

This month, the Lioness South Texas Regional Group is raising $1,500 to provide 34 twin-size comforter sets for inside members participating in the Recovery Housing Opportunity Project dorm at the O'Daniel Unit.

A comforter may seem like a small thing, but comfort, dignity, and connection matter.
Every donation helps create a more welcoming environment while reminding our inside members that they remain part of a larger community that believes in healing, growth, and second chances.

Nobody gets through this alone. Every woman and gender expansive person who shares their story, opens a door, makes a call, offers a ride, gives advice, or simply says “I’ve been there” becomes part of someone else’s journey home.

We are each other’s reason.

Then again, that’s years of sisterhood, leadership, healing, laughter, road trips, rallies, trainings, late-night phone calls, and women proving every day that our stories don’t end where the system said they would.
