NSAC members serve as an advisory group to the National President, engaging in strategic conversations about the future of Alpha Phi Omega and acting as a vital connection between national leadership and student members across their regions.

It is with profound sorrow that Alpha Phi Omega announces the passing of Brother Evan Tyler Harmon, Alpha Zeta Kappa '06, on Friday, May 1, 2026.

As Region I Chair and a dedicated volunteer leader since 2017, Brother Harmon brought an unwavering commitment to students and chapters across the region — showing up in person, building relationships and championing the next generation of leaders. A founding member of Alpha Zeta Kappa Chapter at Eastern Kentucky University, Evan went on to serve as Section I-1 Chair, Deputy Region I Chair and, most recently, Region I Chair, elected by his brothers in December 2025. His nearly two decades of service were a testament to what brotherhood and servant leadership truly means.

Brother Harmon's presence, dedication and genuine care for every brother he served will be deeply missed. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and to all who knew him.

Recently, Region D saw two successful Sectional Conferences take place in Denton, TX (D-1 and D-3) and in Georgetown, TX (D-2). The Gamma Rho (UNT) and Alpha Gamma Kappa (Southwestern) chapters did a fantastic job hosting excellent sessions with many opportunities for leadership, friendship and service along the way.

In this conference season, we are experiencing a wave of change in the Region. Each Section elected a new chair to succeed an outgoing chair. The new Section Chairs will assume their roles on June 1st, 2026.

For D-1, Oscar Morado (Beta Sigma) was elected Section Chair.

For D-2. Carlos Estrada (Phi Xi) was elected Section Chair.

For D-3, Brea Baygents (Alpha Epsilon Zeta) was elected Section Chair.

Congratulations to our incoming Section Chairs and also, a special thank you to Andrea Ramirez (D-1), Jinx Wiener (D-2) and Carlos Estrada (D-3) as they wrap up their terms as Section Chairs.

All of us at Region D now look to our incoming Section Chairs for leadership and guidance, and we hope our hearty cooperation will aid you in the success of your respective chapters and Sections (and Region D as a result).

Spring Sectional Conference season continues with the 2026 D-2 Conference at Southwestern University (Alpha Gamma Kappa). Come join us for a fellowship on Friday and the main conference on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

RE: NOMINATIONS FOR THE NATIONAL DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

Every two years, we look for brothers deserving of the National Distinguished Service Key, our Fraternity’s highest award. This award recognizes individuals who have made a unique and significant contribution to the Fraternity on a national level. Normally, this contribution would be above and beyond the general duties of their APO volunteer roles.

Presentations are made at the National Convention upon the recommendation of a special committee of past recipients of the award.

For nominations, please prepare a detailed written statement as to why you feel your nominee should be considered, taking into account the above criteria. Send your nomination to me in care of the National Office to [email protected].

The deadline for nominations is November 15, 2025.

Alumni Brothers of Region D:

Please excuse the quick turnaround on this request.

Are you interested in giving back to the fraternity that helped shape you into the participating citizen you are today? Do you want to be the voice of the Alumni of Region D? Are you going to the National Convention in Philadelphia, December 27-30, 2025?

If so, please submit your name as a candidate to serve as the Region D Alumni Voting Delegate at the 2025 National Convention.

To nominate yourself, you must be:

--A Brother in good standing with the fraternity. All nominations will be checked against the official membership rolls at the National Office

--Live in Region D. You do NOT have to have pledged at a chapter in Region D, but you must currently live in Region D

--Be physically able to sit on the legislative floor on 12/28/25 from 8:45 AM- 6:00 PM

This responsibility involves casting votes on behalf of the alumni of our Region, not in your best or a specific chapter's best interest; you must keep that in mind. As an Alumni Voting Delegate, you have the rights and privileges of anyone else on the legislative floor to speak and vote on all legislation brought before the body. You will also be casting a vote in all elections, nationally and for the Region Chair (formerly known as the Regional Director).

Note: While, Section Chairs can serve in this position, we prefer it to be someone who is not needed to take care of their chapters while at the convention.

If you are interested or know someone interested, please let me, the Region D Alumni Council Chair, know by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on 10/22/25. If you are nominating someone, please let them know you are doing it and have their permission.

Each candidate should submit a short fraternity-related bio and include a bit about yourself professionally, and if you wish, what service you participate in and outside of Alpha Phi Omega. This will be sent to me at [email protected].

From there, the Region D Alumni Council will vote on the candidates and a winner will be announced by the Region Chair.
