***ATTENTION PARENTS***
It is with a sad heart that I have to announce that our season will not get to start. Due to the low numbers of teams, we cannot have a season here locally.
It was discussed with the NFL Flag Football League Director Jerry Hernandez in Harlingen that our teams/kids can play in his league. It is the same cost & the kids will get a NFL Jersey from their team & flags. Their games are on Saturdays & times will be determined depending on how many teams they have. He said games can be played any time from 8 am to 4 pm. Schedules will be out once he closes registration. Registrations end for them on Sept 27 & their season begins Oct 9th.
Parents: Options #1 is keeping your team together & registering as a team to play in Harlingen. The teams from here can practice here locally & play games in Harlingen on Saturdays. Option #2 You can also register individually but if your child is placed with a team that is mainly from Harlingen, you might have practice over there. Option #3 is getting a refund.
Refunds will only take place from 6-7:30 Monday through Wednesday at Willacy Graphics for cash refunds. Cashapp refunds can be done as well but you MUST INBOX WITH THE CHILD’S NAME AND THE CORRECT CASHAPP ADDRESS. Any mistakes on your part can result in loss of your refund. So make sure you send the correct cashapp address. If you send a refund request, it will be processed between the hours of 6-7:30 Monday through Wednesday. I have a full time job so I will not process returns during my work business hours. Voiding registration forms must take place when processing refunds. This is why refunds can only take place during certain times. They must be done properly to ensure everyone gets their refund if requested. Phone calls or texts will be made to those who do not have social media for the parent to make a choice.
Coaches: If you are wanting to register your team to play NFL Flag Football in Harlingen, I can refund you your team’s payment only if you paid for the entire team when you registered here. If the child registered individually, I must refund the parent & then they can give you those funds.
We were looking forward to a great season but we understand why we have low numbers. Covid is still out there & with the new strand & some of our players ineligible for vaccinations yet, we understand the hesitation. We hope all the kids who will continue to play in another league have a wonderful & safe season. Have Fun, Be Safe & We will miss seeing you all play, hear the yelling family fans & the excitement EVERYONE brought to the park come game day.
