An Mpowerment Project of Vivent Health that can make a difference in the lives of young gay, bisexual, and questioning men ages 18 – 35 by mobilizing these men to shape a healthy community for themselves, build positive social connections, and support their friends to have safer sex. The Mpowerm

ent Project can reach large numbers of young gay/bisexual men in a cost effective manner because it is a community level intervention. Within the Q space community partners help create a safe space for Austin’s LGBTQIA communities by organizing events and outreach to support the Q’s vision. Through this support the message of safer sex practices and well-being can reach a larger audience while raising awareness for the Q and its mission. Healthcare funding cuts do not exist in a vacuum and their disastrous effects do not only impact a few people. It’s not just folks on Medicaid and Medicare who need to worry about government guts. Taking money from Healthcare hurts every single one of us. Join us as we rally together to demand equitable access to health and medical care for ALL.
From June 1 to June 7, local organizations and advocates from across the country will demand that local, state, and federal representatives clearly articulate how they will:
Improve affordability and access to care and treatment.
Sustain and strengthen biomedical research.
Protect and modernize domestic and global public health infrastructure.
Provide stability for seniors, veterans, rural communities, people with disabilities, working families and others reliant on accessible, affordable healthcare.
At our Candlelight Vigils, we will mourn those for whom our demands come too late. At Town Halls across the country, we will come together to discuss advocacy, access, and fairness and make our plans on how to continue the fight for Healthcare for All.

Today, there is still no HIV vaccine available. On HIV Vaccine Awareness Day, we recognize the scientists, researchers, clinical teams, and study participants who continue working toward a vaccine that could help end HIV globally.
Developing an HIV vaccine remains challenging due to the virus’s rapid mutation, ongoing funding barriers, stigma, misinformation, and unequal access to existing prevention resources. Still, every clinical trial brings us closer. The knowledge gained from HIV vaccine research has already advanced medicine in major ways including helping lay the foundation for the rapid development of COVID-19 vaccines.
Ending the HIV epidemic requires all of us. By addressing misinformation, expanding access to education and prevention, and empowering the next generation of leaders, we can continue moving toward long-term solutions to this decades long public health challenge.
With the FDA approval of lenacapavir, a twice yearly injectable medication for HIV prevention, we are already seeing major progress in HIV prevention and care. While there is still work ahead, today is a reminder that science, advocacy, and community collaboration continue to move us closer to a future free of HIV.
