BOXER SPOTLIGHT: DUTCHESS II

Dutchess II is an ABR return looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Dutchess II! I am a beautiful 6 year old fawn girl that is an owner surrender after being adopted several years ago from ABR and my owners returning me due to a change in lifestyle and working longer hours. I am described as shy, active, protective, noisy, playful, affectionate, and nervous! I will completely ignore dogs like they don't exist unless they're coming inside my home. I have had exposure to my owner's mom's boxer and I got along well with her. I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. There is an 11 year old human kid in the home but I am only allowed around her when the humans are holding or with her due to me being hyper and trying to play too rough with her so a proper introduction to kids would be necessary. I do not like people that randomly pet me or get too close to me and prefer to go to them first. I am house trained, crate trained, know basic commands, and at night I sleep on my bed outside the bedroom. I eat Stella, Chewy's, and Farmers Dog after being obese and discolored fur and all has since corrected with proper diet. If the humans must be away and I am left alone, I have high anxiety and will get very depressed, nervous, and whine. I am fearful of being outside and going for walks. I will pull to get back to the house as fast as possible. I don't like dry dog food, typical dog treats, or loud noises, specifically trucks. It is suspected that in a previous home I was left outside and is why I'm scared of going outside and being left there. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, anything to play tug of war with the humans, belly rubs, attention, mangos, steak, snuggling, slamming my body against the humans, swimming in pools, and loving my humans endlessly once I trust them! If you think I would make a great addition to your home, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

BOXER SPOTLIGHT: CHANCE III

Chance III is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Chance III! I am a handsome 7 year old fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to my owner no longer being able to care for me. I am bonded with my companion, Missy II, so we are needing to be adopted together which means double the Boxer love and fun for you! I am described as friendly, active, smart, protective, noisy, playful, and affectionate! I am territorial at the fence line with other dogs but get along great with my companion, Missy! It is said that I am not cat friendly and due to me being rambunctious, I would do best with older kids. I am house trained and at night I sleep on my bed in the living room. I am not crate trained and would need assistance with that if it is required in my forever home. If the humans must be away I am fine and have Missy to keep me company. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am not fearful of anything and feel the need to investigate everything! Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, playing with Missy, treats, and food! If you think my companion Missy and I would make a great addition to your home, contact the rescue today and give them our names because we are waiting to meet you!

BOXER SPOTLIGHT: ZOEY XII

Zoey XII is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Zoey XII! I am a beautiful 8 year old flashy fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to my owners having life changes and busy schedules. I am described as friendly, smart, calm, affectionate, quiet, and obedient! I am partially blind in one eye and have stiff back legs when I lie down in one place too long but I do not let that slow me down! I have lived with three dogs, four cats and kittens, chickens, baby chicks, and goats and am animal friendly! I seem to love dogs and cats seem to gravitate towards me. There are three kids in my home (ages 6 months-13 years) and I am good with them and other children that visit the home! I am house trained, crate trained, know basic commands, and at night I sleep in the entryway room with a jumbo memory foam bed. When the humans are away, I am not crated and am not destructive and will stay in an area if it is blocked off. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am afraid of loud noises, thunder, and fireworks. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, staying in the a/c when it's hot outside, belly rubs, hugs, treats, light walks, sleep, and getting love! My current owner says I am a calm and amazing dog that smiles when I'm happy. If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

BOXER SPOTLIGHT: LUCY

Lucy IX is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! We are Linus and Lucy IX! We are beautiful 7 year old fawn littermates who are owner surrenders due to our owner being unable to afford to care for us. We are littermates and have never been apart, therefore we need to be adopted together which means double the Boxer love and fun for you! We are described as friendly, active, smart, noisy, playful, affectionate, and nervous! We have not had exposure to many other dogs but live with a rescue pug and after a few weeks of getting used to him, we are very close with him. We occasionally see stray cats on the property we live at but due to us being in a fenced area, we do not have interaction with them and will bark at them. We have had limited exposure to children but our owner's niece occasionally visits and after giving us time to calm down, we are allowed to interact with her and we are great and will even lay next to her to watch a movie or stay by her side. We are always happy to see new people and it takes a few minutes for us to contain our excitement! We are house trained but will need crate training if that is required in our forever home. At night we sleep on the couch, love seat, or recliner and if the humans must be away, we are good being left alone. When outside we have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of our fears include thunder and fireworks but we love riding in the car, chew toys, playing tug of war with rope toys, daily walks in the morning and evening, snuggling, sitting next to the humans, and getting pets from the humans! If you think we would make a great addition to your home, contact the rescue today and give them our names because we are waiting to meet you!

BOXER SPOTLIGHT: ROCKY VII

Rocky XII is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Rocky XII ! I am a beautiful 5 year old flashy brindle girl that is an owner surrender due to my family moving and unable to take me with them. I am described as friendly, active, smart, playful, and affectionate! I am dog selective and get along with the dog I currently live with but do not like dogs that I see on my walks or at dog parks. I have lived with a cat and due to my dislike of it, a cat free home is needed please! I currently live with 2 kids (ages 12 and 14 years old) and I am very friendly with kids! I am house trained, crate trained, and at night I sleep in my crate. If the humans must be away, I react fine being alone. When outside I do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates but am able to jump kiddie gates if given the opportunity. I am not a fan of baths but some of my favorite things are riding in the car, playing, and stuffed animals! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

BOXER SPOTLIGHT: EVIAN

Hi! I am Evian. I’ve had a challenging few months on my own, but luckily ABR rescued me from the Liberty Hill area and I am ready for my forever home. I am young, about 2–4 years old, and dog friendly, smart, and playful. I am crate trained, house trained and motivated by treats. I love people and am very affectionate. I respond to simple commands like “come”, “paw” and “sit”. I do not live with a cat in my foster home, so it is unknown if I am cat friendly. At night I sleep in my dog bed close to my humans, or in my open crate. I am good on a leash for short walks, but need training for longer walks or hikes. When outside I have good behavior and quick recall. I may attempt to dig if I see a little frog or interesting creature, but once you tell me “No”, I stop immediately. I do not attempt to jump fences when in my backyard. I like to be close to my humans, and often catch a nap while they are working from home. It’s unknown how I am with small children, but am just fine with teenagers. I am curious about almost everything I can find in a home, but most of all love affection. Some of my favorite things are cuddling and napping, food and treats, toys, and meeting other dogs. I love to get attention from our humans and their guests. I would make an excellent addition to any home that loves Boxers. Presently I am located in the Austin area and would be available for a meet and greet with a family interested in adoption.

BOXER SPOTLIGHT: SOPHIE V

Sophie V is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Sophie! I am a beautiful 10 year old flashy brindle lady that is searching for my forever home with my son Bruno VII! We are very bonded and go where the other goes so it's important we be adopted together! I am a proud member of the Silver Heart Program so be sure and ask about it because there are many perks for my adoptive family! Prior to coming to the rescue Bruno and I were living with our owner in his car after we lost our mom and home and our dad's health was failing. We have since settled into a foster home and are thriving! I will get excited and am learning not to jump, am not interested in toys or treats, do well with baths, enjoy car rides but need help getting in, and enjoy playing with Bruno (and I can keep up with him too)! I have only been around Bruno so it is uncertain if I am dog friendly beyond our bond. We have never lived with a cat but am said to be kid friendly! I am house trained but hate going out in the rain and prefer a human to go with me. I will go in my crate for a piece of cheese and am quiet but I prefer not to be in it. Although I am very active for my age, I am a well behaved lady and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am fearful of storms and will go sit by the humans and tremble. If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and tell them you would like to meet Silver Heart Sophie V and her boy Bruno VII because we are waiting to meet you!

Success Story - Cali

Hello!

I just wanted to send an update on Cali! She has really settled in over here and made herself at home. We are loving her sweet nature! She went to the vet on Friday and started joint supplements and pain meds and I can already see a noticeable difference in her ability to get around comfortably. She even runs and plays and gets the zoomies, which we love to see. Please let her previous family know she is doing well and being spoiled!

And big thanks to you all for covering her vetting!

Best,
Katy Murray
