"September 11, 2001, changed the world for all of us, but it also had a profound impact on the paths we chose to pursue in public service. Through both our personal experiences and our careers serving our communities, we have developed a deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by first responders and strongly believe in the mission of Friends of Firefighters, particularly its commitment to addressing the mental health and well-being of the firefighting community.
Chris enlisted in the United States Army in 2010 and deployed to Eastern Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, serving as a Combat Engineer. Following his military service, he joined the FDNY in 2017. He has served with Engine 79 and Ladder 37 and is currently detailed to Squad 41 in the Bronx.
Jamie studied Criminal Justice at Kean University and began her public service career in 2018 as a 911 Telecommunicator with the Clifton Police Department. In 2022, she joined the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, serving in both the courts and patrol divisions. In February 2026, she continued her law enforcement career with the Washington Township Police Department.
Our shared experiences in the military, emergency communications, firefighting, and law enforcement have given us a firsthand understanding of the demands and challenges that come with a career in public service. We are proud to support the Friends of Firefighters mission and to help raise awareness and support for the mental health and overall well-being of those who dedicate their lives to protecting others." - Jamie & Chris
