When school lets out, hunger doesn’t take a summer break.

Beginning June 1 and all summer long, we are working together with community partners throughout Central Texas to help provide meals for children ages 1-18.

Simply show up to any listed site for a prepared meal; or if you live in a rural area, look for our locations where you can get a box for each child containing a 10 day supply of meals. No ID or registration is required.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

Most of us don't think about what keeps a building running until something stops working. But for Facilities Manager Marie Carmen Caballero, it’s a daily mission rooted in service.

After volunteering to pack food boxes during the pandemic, Marie knew she wanted a career driven by purpose. Today, she manages everything from our complex HVAC and refrigeration systems to safety protocols.

Her dedication ensures our team members, volunteers, and partners can successfully distribute fresh, nutritious food throughout our 21 counties. Marie Carmen reminds us that making tomorrow possible truly takes a village, both out in the community and right here inside our walls.

Huge thanks to Mrs Baird's for helping us deliver the best thing since sliced bread to kids this summer. 🍞☀️

Their generous donation of 32,000 loaves of bread will help create 384,000 nutritious sandwiches for children through our Summer Meals Program.

When school is out, many children lose access to the free and reduced-price meals they count on during the school year. That’s why, all summer long, we’re partnering with nonprofit community organizations to provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks for kids, while also delivering meal boxes to rural communities to help reach families wherever they are.

🥗Locate meals! Just show up. Your children do not need to be enrolled in summer programs. The doors are open to all.

📦Pick up a food box! Locations are listed for ease of access in rural areas. We have 70 locations and counting!

More than 20 years ago, Leming Xu walked into the Central Texas Food Bank (then the Capital Area Food Bank) looking for a way to heal and reconnect after surviving a traumatic brain injury. Today, after more than 1,600 volunteer hours, he’s still showing up every Thursday morning to help prepare food for families across Central Texas.

“I just thought I should do something to contribute to society,” Leming shared. “Whatever I can do, I will just continue.”

From sorting and inspecting donations to encouraging fellow volunteers, Leming’s kindness and dedication have touched so many lives, including ours. Through every season, even throughout COVID, he remained a steady and compassionate presence our warehouse team could count on.

Volunteers like Leming remind us that community care changes lives in more ways than one.

Thank you, Leming, for helping make tomorrow possible.

Bringing healthy, connected golden years to Manor. 💚

Through our partnership with Housing Authority of Travis County, older adults are gaining consistent access to fresh fruit and vegetables right where they live.

For residents like Shirley, who doesn’t drive and manages chronic health conditions, the Golden Harvest Farmers Market is a lifeline to better health and independence.

“I love the people that come help us out,” she said. “It’s beautiful. It keeps me from going to the store and you have good vegetables."

Each month, fresh produce arrives onsite, making it easier to maintain healthy routines, connect with neighbors, and build community.

When housing and food access come together, stronger, healthier communities follow.
