Fall crafting is better with friends🍂🎃

This week, our Round Rock Thrive members welcomed volunteers from New Neighbors of Greater Round Rock's Caring Hands group for a fun morning of fall crafts, conversation, and connection.

Together they made stained-glass-inspired leaves and pumpkins and shared plenty of smiles along the way 💚

Have a few hours to give on November 7? We'd love your help.

AGE is looking for volunteers to help bring the She Thrives Summit and We Thrive Gala to life. There are opportunities throughout the day, so you can choose the shift that works best for you.

Morning opportunities include welcoming Summit guests and helping sessions run smoothly.

Our greatest need is during the We Thrive Gala in the evening. We're looking for friendly to help guests participate in games, including Raffle Sales, Take the Cake, Pick a Present, and Heads or Tails. These activities are a fun part of the evening and help generate support for AGE's work serving older adults and family caregivers across Central Texas.

Registration is open for On Your Feet, an interactive fall prevention program presented by AGE of Central Texas in collaboration with medical staff from St. David’s.

Designed for older adults who have experienced a fall or are concerned about falling, this program will help participants identify personal fall risks, improve balance and mobility, and make everyday environments safer.

The She Thrives Summit brings together women of all ages and backgrounds, along with the men who support them, for a day of meaningful conversations, practical resources, and community as they navigate aging and caregiving.

The summit will feature keynote speaker Dr. Seema Desai, speaker, author and creator of The Joy First Method. Desai will open the event with “Joy First: Reclaiming What Matters Most” and close with “Choose Joy: Creating a Life That Reflects What Matters.”

Attendees can choose from three breakout tracks: The Journey, focused on caregiving and end-of-life planning; The Toolkit, covering legal and financial planning; and The Care, exploring women's health and menopause. Speakers include experts from AARP, Edward Jones, Frost Bank, Amplify Credit Union, Austin Regional Clinic and AGE of Central Texas, among others.

Join us on October 21 for Session 2 of our four-part Caring for a Loved One Living with Dementia series. A Day in the Life of Someone with Dementia will offer insight into a loved one’s daily experience and explore simple ways to create a more comfortable, supportive home environment.

Attend in person for an interactive workshop or virtually to observe and submit questions. This session stands on its own, so you are welcome to join us even if you missed the first session.

Meet Dr. Seema Desai, keynote speaker for the She Thrives 2026 Summit on November 7!

In The Joy First Method: Your Next Competitive Edge, Dr. Seema will invite attendees to reconsider the traditional “grind, hustle, achieve” approach to success. She’ll share a different way forward, one that honors ambition while making room for joy, well-being, inner peace, and the things that make life meaningful.

The She Thrives Summit brings together women of all ages and backgrounds, along with the men who support them, for a day of meaningful conversations, practical resources, and community as they navigate aging and caregiving.

The day will conclude with the We Thrive Gala featuring the Runway of Resilience, raising funds to support family caregivers in need across Central Texas.
