ReWork Project ReWork Project sets out to bring lasting change and renewal to the city of Austin We are aiming to re-launch in 2024.

Our mission is to provide a dignified employment opportunity with social support services for adults in our community who desire to work but are prevented by housing instability, mental illness and disability. For over ten years, until early 2023, we did this through our woodshop in South Austin. Our building owners sold our space in 2022, so in 2023 we had to pause operations while we locate a new facility that fits our needs. We’ve also been using this time for re-envisioning our process and creating a more sustainable and supportive plan for our staff and ReWorkers. Meanwhile, you can still support us during this relaunch period by donating, following us on social media, signing up for our newsletter and sharing about our organization with your networks! We look forward to continuing our mission to provide a space for everyone to work and thrive in 2024, and hope you will consider partnering with us to make that happen! We believe everyone who wants to work, should have the opportunity to do so.

Austin’s city budget reflects months of hard work, tough conversations, and difficult choices.

We want to recognize the members of the Austin City Council and their staffs who worked tirelessly to help shape a budget that continues to recognize the importance of social services and support for our unhoused neighbors and families.

Budgets are never easy. There are competing priorities, limited resources, and decisions that affect real people across our community. Maintaining critical social service funding is more than a budget decision—it is an investment in the health, stability, and future of Austin and the people who call this city home.

Thank you to the Council members, their teams, City staff, service providers, advocates, and community members who put in the work to make sure these essential services remained part of Austin’s commitment to its residents.

Supporting our neighbors strengthens our entire city.

We had a sink but we needed a ~*SINK*~ in order to start painting and staining our products again (the cleanup!). Getting this utility sink installed a few months ago was a major win. 🏆
