you ask foster parents what they need most, many will give you the same answer: Rest.
Not because they don’t love the children in their care. But because loving children who have experienced trauma, loss, and uncertainty is beautiful work, and exhausting work.
That’s why this space exists. Welcome to the Lecture Hall.💛
By day, this room is a training center, gathering place, and classroom for the people changing the foster care experience. Staff gathers here. Volunteers are trained. Mentors are equipped. New chapter leaders will come from across the country to learn how to launch and grow programs in their communities.
But some of our favorite moments will happen at night.
During Caregiver’s Night Out, this room will be filled with children laughing, playing, making friends, and watching movies while their caregivers get a few precious hours to rest.
Because sometimes the most meaningful gift we can offer a foster parent is not another resource.
It’s a break.
It’s knowing their children are safe, loved, seen, and having fun.
You’ll also notice a set of angel wings in this room. Every volunteer who chooses to walk alongside a child, youth, or caregiver will stand proudly in front of those wings. Commitments will be made. New journeys of service will begin.🪽
To the left sits our mission statement, a reminder of who we are and why we do this work.
Because while buildings are important, people are what change lives.
