Austin Angels Linktr.ee/austinangels We created the Dare to Dream program for youth ages 15-22 and Dare to Dream Jr.

We created the Love Box program to walk alongside children, youth and families in the foster care system, as well as their caretakers, by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship. for youth ages 11-14 to individually serve an aged-out or at-risk to age out youth in foster care. If these walls could talk, we hope they would whisper, “You are safe here.”💛

Welcome to the Family Room at The Community Center, a space intentionally designed for families to gather, reconnect, and feel supported.

Our Community Center will serve as a space where a child can spend time with their parent, a biological parent can have another chance to connect, and a foster parent can navigate one of the most complex roles imaginable.

Too often, these important moments happen in spaces that feel temporary, clinical, or anything but welcoming.

Foster care comes with so many uncertainties, but here, children and families will have a safe space to connect and feel comfortable.

We’re incredibly grateful to Susan Semmelmann Interiors for bringing the vision of this space to life and to Four Hands for helping create a room that feels less like an office and more like a living room.

Because every detail in this room was designed around one belief: “People deserve spaces that honor their humanity.”

This is a place where healing can begin.🏠🫶

Youth experiencing foster care are defying the odds and daring to dream bigger when they have people in their corner.💛

Hector’s journey is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a young person has a mentor through Austin Angels’ Dare to Dream® program, a community that believes in them, and people who open doors along the way.

One of the very first meetings we had with the Michael Hsu Office of Architecture team after receiving the Design for All Partnership Grant, the lead architect on our project asked our CEO & Founder a question she’d never forget:

“Susan, what do you want this space to feel like for everyone who walks through the doors?”

Without missing a beat, she said:

“I want it to feel like a big hug.”

That was it. Before we talked about finishes, furniture, colors, or design details, we knew how we wanted people to feel.

Months later, Chet and his team invited us to their office to walk us through the design. And when he got to the kitchen area he said:

“Here is your hug.”

It was a bench designed in the shape of two arms wrapping around you.

It took our breath away.

Michael Hsu is known for hospitality. They think deeply about how people experience a space, not just how it looks, but how it makes you feel. And we think that is one of the reasons our relationship with their team became so special.

We share the same value: people should be cared for.

So when you walk through the doors of our Community Center, one of the first things you see is that hug.

And right there with it are the words that drive us everyday

UNTIL EVERY CHILD IS REACHED.😇

Our hope is that everyone who enters, children, youth, caregivers, volunteers, donors, partners, staff, sees those words, feels those arms wrapping around them, takes a deep breath, and knows:

You belong here.
You are cared for here.
And we are not giving up until every child is reached

That is our vision.

And we will keep building, loving, serving, and showing up until it does.

The relationship between a CEO and CFO is one of the most important partnerships in any organization.

One is dreaming about what’s possible, while the other is making sure the numbers make sense. 😜

And somehow, these two have continued walking in step for nine years! Not because they always see things the same way, but because they trust one another to get the job done, respect what each brings to the table, and remain deeply aligned around the mission.

Here’s to building something extraordinary, having a little fun along the way, and using exactly who they are to keep moving this mission forward.
