Who says you need a special occasion to bring home flowers? 💐🌸

Join us at Hope Full Farm on Sunday, October 25, from 10 AM to 12 PM, for Field to Vase, a hands-on floral arranging workshop led by our Farm Director, Lea Scott!

Get creative with seasonal blooms as Lea shares tips and techniques for floral arranging. Whether you're a flower enthusiast or just looking for a fun, creative way to spend your Sunday morning, you'll leave with new skills and a beautiful floral arrangement of your own to take home!

Applications are officially OPEN for the 2027 Farm to Fork Junior Chef Challenge! We’re looking for four young chefs ages 12 to 17 who are ready to learn from some of Austin’s best and create something of their own.

Each selected Junior Chef will be paired with one of this year’s Chef Mentors: Alexa Mejia of , Fermín Núñez of and , Kate Schwarzlose of , or Philip Speer of .

In the months leading up to the event, each Junior Chef and mentor will work together to develop and prepare an original dish featuring fresh, organic produce grown at Hope Full Farm. On event day, the Junior Chefs will present their creations to a live audience and panel of community judges. Every Junior Chef selected to compete will also receive a scholarship toward their culinary or educational goals.

It brings together young chefs, incredible mentors, and Hope Full Farm produce to celebrate youth, mentorship, and food access in Central Texas.

Before Center Field can grow food, it needs one essential thing: water.

Water supports every stage of a crop’s life, from helping seeds germinate and roots establish to keeping plants growing through hot, dry stretches. But just having water isn’t enough. Getting the right amount to the right place, consistently and efficiently, is what makes a productive field possible.

That’s why irrigation is such an important part of building Center Field.

The infrastructure is now in place to serve three 50 x 100-foot growing areas. Headers have been installed, and flexible drip tape will eventually run from those lines directly to every bed, delivering water right where the plants need it. This system will support every harvest that comes out of Center Field.

Each step gets us closer to putting this new growing space to work for our community. 💧🌱

September by the numbers! 🌱

As we head into October, we’re looking back at what we grew, harvested, and shared with our community in September.

🥕 1,528 lbs of produce harvested
🌱 26 different varieties grown
💚 61% of our harvest donated to the community

These numbers reflect the work happening every day in the field and the fresh food making its way to local families.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make September such a productive month. Now, on to October!

Caught one of the farm’s tiniest pest control crews on the job. 👀

Praying mantises are generalist predators, feeding on insects they can catch, including plenty of common crop pests. It is one small example of the biodiversity we want to support across the farm.

Never a dull day in the field.

What can a group of 30 volunteers get done in one morning? A whole lot. 🌱

This weekend, our volunteers got right to work transplanting onions, weeding beds, and planting fennel. These are the kinds of hands-on projects that keep the farm moving forward and help us grow more fresh, organic produce!
