Calling all Maine college students: MPA is hiring campus organizing fellows!

As MPA plans for the critical 2026 November election, we are opening part-time paid fellowship positions on college campuses across Maine to boost youth voter turnout across the state. This position is open to students attending Maine colleges this fall.

Together, campus fellows will be responsible for building GOTV programs on Maine campuses focusing on voter education and helping students understand Maine’s laws regarding student voter registration and our same-day voter registration law.

Yesterday we were in Portland and Lewiston to demand no immunity for Big Oil!! We are calling on Maine’s members of Congress to hold big oil companies accountable for the damage they’re causing.

Republicans in Congress are giving tax breaks and free passes to billionaires and wealthy corporations, including the big oil companies that are destroying our climate. Proposed federal legislation could block climate lawsuits and prevent states from passing laws that require fossil fuel companies to help pay for the damage they’re causing.

We can’t let that happen! Today we gathered outside Sen. Susan Collins’ Biddeford office to honor Johan Sebastián Guerrero and everyone who has been harmed by ICE’s violent tactics. Maine families are suffering because of Collins’ actions and we demand that she do better! She recently voted to fund ICE—the agency that shot and killed Johan in Biddeford last month—with an additional $70 billion.

Today’s protest serves as the national launch of Popular Democracy’s “Fund Care, Not Cruelty” August Recess Week of Action, a coordinated campaign inviting communities nationwide to hold members of Congress accountable for voting to expand ICE while slashing healthcare and food assistance.

Maine's online absentee ballot request form is now live for the November general election! Voters can request an absentee ballot online now using the link below, and ballots will start being mailed out in early October.

Registered Maine voters may use this free service to request an absentee ballot for the November 03, 2026 General Election. Ballots must be received no later than 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Election Day.
