$31.44-37.75 per hour
40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, no weekends or evenings

It’s been a year since I joined Unity House as its chief operating officer. I expected to work hard and learn a lot. What I didn’t expect was how quickly I felt connected and part of this community. I’m calling the last 12 months my “Year of Yes.”

On my first day last September, I showed up in tropical pants. Why? Because three employees I hadn’t met yet told me that I was on their Unity Games team and we were engaged in a month of team-building challenges and theme-dress days. Taking a chance won out over worrying about making a good first impression.

From that day on, I’ve said “yes” to being part of this amazing community – staff members, donors, and the people Unity House supports. I have never been disappointed.

Today we celebrate Indigenous peoples while also recognizing the importance of reflection and reconciliation. Let us continue to learn from Indigenous communities and honor their lasting impact on our nation. By fostering understanding and respect, we can build a world where every culture is valued and every heritage is honored.

Unity House celebrates 50 years of excellence in 2027. We recently asked for your feedback on how we’re doing and where we should focus our efforts. Unity House is thankful for the 181 people who took the time to respond to the survey.

On October 6, about 20 people gathered for a workshop hosted by Causewave Community Partners at the Case Mansion in Auburn, taking part in a facilitated discussion which included your responses. Your input helps us plan for the future and ensure we can continue meeting our mission for the next five decades.

The people we support are growing, changing, and doing amazing things every day.

We recognize that progress doesn’t happen all at once. It happens in everyday moments, new choices, and hard-won milestones. That's why we’ll keep coming back to the people at the heart of our work, making sure their Stories of Hope keep moving forward, too.

We'd love to tell you about Sky, who we first wrote about in March 2025. Since then, Sky has made wonderful progress, taking important steps toward greater independence.
