Tonight we welcomed back nineteen Seniors who attended Genesee Elementary School, and their families.

They saw photos and videos from their time at Genesee, learned about a special scholarship they can apply for, and took a tour of the school.

We are so proud of these students and encourage them to apply for a scholarship to help with college or trade school costs. The link is on our website: www.geneseescholarship.org

Many of these former Genesee Elementary School 6th grade students are now High School Seniors! On Wednesday, February 4th we will be celebrating them at Senior Night in the Genesee Library where they'll enjoy pizza, learn about our scholarship program, see photos and videos from their years at Genesee and get a tour of the school. If you know a high school senior who attended Genesee, ask them if they've sent in their RSVP, which can be found on the website www.geneseescholarship.org

At the GESP Annual Meeting on Wednesday, we welcomed new Board Member Christina Calarco, Science Teacher at Auburn High School. Other Board Members whose terms were renewed include Nicole Darrow and LuAnn Phillips (former Genesee students), Ashley McLeod and Devon Roblee (Genesee parents), Amy Heintz (community member), Ashley Evans (Genesee Social Worker), and Anne Mlod (retired Genesee Librarian). We anticipate an opening for a Treasurer; if you’re interested, please let us know!

Congratulations to Adam Gagnier, who recently graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology! Once he receives his license, Adam will begin his job as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Upstate Medical Center.

Adam was a recipient of a Genesee Elementary Alumni Scholarship four years ago, and will be assisting in the award presentation of this year’s scholarships on June 2nd. Congratulations Adam!
