It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of our brother, Deputy Paul Indelicato.

Paul was more than just a coworker—he was family. He dedicated his life to serving and protecting, standing shoulder to shoulder with us through long shifts, tough days, and countless moments of camaraderie. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy of honor, dedication, and friendship will never be forgotten.

To his family, we stand with you in this unimaginable loss. And to our brothers and sisters in uniform—lean on each other, share the stories, and remember him for the man he was, both in and out of uniform.

Rest easy, brother. We'll take it from here. 🖤💙🖤

It is with heavy hearts and deepest sympathies that we announce the sudden passing of our own Oswego County Sheriff’s Deputy Cailee Campbell on the morning of September 25, 2024. Deputy Campbell was involved in a motor vehicle accident while responding to a call, ultimately resulting in her passing. She served her community with dedication and enthusiasm, and her legacy will live on in our hearts. The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office is asking for prayers for friends, family and colleagues during this difficult time.

Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of two of our fellow brothers in blue, who bravely served and tragically lost their lives in the line of duty. Our deepest condolences go out to their families, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

TWO LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY:

On Sunday, April 14th, 2024, at about 7:07 p.m., Syracuse Police Officers encountered a suspicious vehicle in the area of Emerson Avenue and Hamilton Street. Police officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the driver refused to stop and fled the area. The officers lost sight of the vehicle but were able to record the license plate information.

Officers checked the vehicle registration and determined the registered owner resides on Darien Drive, in Liverpool, New York.

Syracuse Police responded to the address, along with members of the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was found to be parked at a residence on Darien Drive.

Shortly after arrival, the police officers and sheriff’s deputies were encountered by an armed male and an exchange of gunfire followed.

One Syracuse Police Officer and one Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputy were struck by gunfire. The armed suspect was also shot.

Both law enforcement officers were transported to Upstate University Hospital where life saving measures were conducted. The Syracuse Police Officer and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputy succumbed to their injuries.

The suspect was also transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the two law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, as well as with their brothers and sisters in law enforcement who are suffering in the wake of this tragedy.

We thank the community for their outpouring of support.
