Camelback has been OUTSIDE!” 👀

And if you've been keeping up with us lately, you know it's true!

From Fayetteville's 910 Pitch Competition to the Next Narrative Summit, the Congressional Black Caucus, and Delta Fest, we've been showing up, building connections, and finding inspiration in the people reimagining the future of innovation and entrepreneurship.

One thing these moments continue to affirm? The future isn't built in isolation. It's built in community.

And everywhere we go, there's a familiar face reminding us just how deep the runs. 🫶🏾

With 235+ Fellows building, disrupting, and creating solutions rooted in their communities, we're reminded that proximity is powerful and that none of us has to do this work alone.

So, here's to building a new blueprint, together.

October is taking us across the country — from Oakland to Beaufort, New York, Phoenix, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and beyond.

And while the cities may change, the purpose remains the same: to be in community.

Now more than ever, we know that building what’s next cannot be done alone. It takes shared vision, honest conversation, collective imagination, and people willing to come together around what’s possible.

This month, we’re showing up in rooms with educators, funders, founders, innovators, and changemakers listening, and strengthening the relationships that move this work forward.

If you’ll be at any of these gatherings, we’d love to connect. See you on the road.

We were proud to be one of the sponsors of the Next Narrative Summit last week and bring a little something extra to the experience: a latte bar giving attendees their much-needed espresso fix throughout the day.

More than anything, the weekend was a reminder of how meaningful it is to gather in community—and how connection can happen in both the expected moments and the unexpected ones.

We’re grateful to have been part of a space that brought people together to exchange ideas and build the narratives that are driving the future of innovation and entrepreneurship across the country.

Where should we bring the coffee pop-up next?

If you’re applying for the Camelback Fellowship, here’s your next piece of advice: don’t try to fit the mold.

At Guardian Summit, we asked Camelback Fellows to share the advice they’d give to founders applying to the fellowship. Next up in the series is Grant Bennett , 2025 Camelback Fellow and Founder of The Two-Six Project.

His advice? Be authentic. Don’t shape your answers around who you think a Camelback Fellow is supposed to be. The strongest application isn’t the one that sounds like everyone else. It’s the one that makes your vision, your perspective, and your conviction clear.

Applications close September 18! Learn more about the Camelback Fellowship and apply through the link in our bio.

If you’re applying for the Camelback Fellowship, consider this your reminder: this is not the time to sell yourself short.

At Guardian Summit, we asked Camelback Fellows to share the advice they’d give to founders applying to the fellowship, and we’re kicking off the series with Ayesha Kazi, 2025 Camelback Fellow and Co-Founder of ASL Aspire.

Her advice? Don’t shrink your vision. Don’t lead with humility at the expense of showing us what makes you exceptional. We’re looking for bold founders building bold solutions.

After 15 years as an educator, Natasha Pittman knew families needed more.

So she created Nurturing Roots Parent Academy to help parents navigate the education system, equip young people as leaders, and help dismantle Louisiana’s school-to-prison pipeline.

Then came Camelback.

As a 2025 Camelback Fellow, Natasha found Nurturing Roots’ first investor—and the support to turn what she calls a “blurred vision” into a blueprint for growth.

“They provided the tools and the training... It has actually showed me that this is possible. We can make change.”

This is Built To Innovate—our monthly series highlighting the founders building bold solutions with the support of a community that believes in them.

Last week we wrapped up Welcome Week for Cohort 17, the beginning of a 4-month accelerator journey and our way to solidify and grow our .

So, it was a thrill to see 2026 Fellow, Kylinn Askew being celebrated for having a winning pitch at Invest Fest Fest less than 48 hours after finishing Welcome Week, which is often a space for Fellows to connect and really begin to lay the foundation of what they desire the future of their venture to look like.

This is one of those moments where we’re proud to cheer on our Fellows and be reminded why it matters to invest into early-stage underrepresented founders. They are the future of innovation and entrepreneurship.

A year ago, we gathered at Lone Rock alongside The Bridgespan Group to ask big questions about Camelback's future and begin shaping what could come next. This year, we returned with a blueprint in hand.

After introducing our new strategic plan at Guardian Summit, our time together at Team Retreat gave us space to move from vision toward implementation—to think deeply about how we create a world where historically overlooked entrepreneurs have more opportunities to let their genius shine.

And if there's one thing we know about the work ahead, it's that none of us can do it alone. It takes a team. It takes trust. It takes relationships deep enough to hold the big ideas, the hard conversations, the unexpected pivots—and plenty of laughter along the way.

So, between planning for what's next, we made space to connect, deepen our relationships, share a few (okay, a lot of) giggles, and simply enjoy being together.

Because a team that can laugh together can navigate the hard things together, too.

For our Program Partner, Brandon Parkes, this year’s Team Retreat at Lone Rock in Colorado marked his first retreat with the Camelback Ventures team. As he shared, it’s a chance to slow down, build deeper relationships, and reconnect with the purpose behind our work.

We also spent time with our partners at Moonshot (Moonshot), reminding us that the work of supporting entrepreneurs isn’t something we do in isolation. It happens through intentional collaboration, shared wisdom, and an ecosystem of people committed to helping founders thrive.
