As I wrap up my time on the MES Foundation Board—and as my son prepares to graduate in May—I want to take a moment to say thank you. To every family who has already given this year: your generosity fuels everything we do.

I’ve had the privilege of seeing the impact of school foundations at every level in APS—Morningside, Howard, and Midtown. I can confidently say this: a strong foundation is a true differentiator for our children.

Foundations:
✅ Move the needle on teacher performance and training
✅ Equip students with the tools and resources to excel academically
✅ Ensure that our school facilities remain places of pride and excellence

When I look at the words “Excellence and Creativity Ahead” above the doors in our school, I see more than just a motto. I see a promise—one that the MES Foundation helps fulfill every single day. Together, we’re ensuring that every child who walks through those doors steps into a future filled with opportunity.

🌞 A Grateful Transformation at Morningside! 🌞

We are bursting with gratitude for our amazing community—your support through the Morningside Elementary Foundation has created some incredible changes here at school!

Thanks to YOUR generosity, we’ve made significant investments this year in professional development, curriculum, technology, and facilities. One of our favorite transformations happened this summer; the legacy portables area got a turf makeover! 🏞️

If you pick up from the walker pad, you’ll remember how this space used to look (see our “before” photo!). Now—just look at the “after” photo! Kids can play freely, read beneath shady trees, and enjoy fresh air in a welcoming, accessible spot. Our kindergarten and first-grade dolphins especially love having easy access to this revitalized area.

Every contribution helps us turn dreams into reality for our students. With your continued support, the Foundation can keep investing back into our beloved school community.
