Partnership for Southern Equity

Partnership for Southern Equity Together we can create a region of balanced growth and opportunity. Together we can build a stronger community where we can all prosper!

Founded in 2009, PSE connects diverse individuals and organizations that advance racial equity and shared prosperity throughout metropolitan Atlanta and the American South. Partnership for Southern Equity – a broad dynamic network of organizations and individuals committed to promoting equitable development and shared prosperity in the Atlanta metropolitan region. The Partnership for Southern Equi

ty (PSE) envisions a new metropolitan Atlanta region in which all people can prosper and thrive because they have access to economic, civic, and social opportunities. Together we can create a region where good schools, jobs and qualified labor can be found everywhere. Together we can create a region where all communities are safe and have access to diverse housing options, healthy food and stable infrastructures.

We will never negotiate our way into freedom.

Read that again.

Freedom is not something you bargain for. It is not something you earn by making yourself smaller, more palatable, or more comfortable for the people who benefit from your oppression.

History has shown us that every time we negotiated, we got compromise. And compromise on liberation is just a slower version of the same system.

PSE was built on the belief that equity is not a conversation you have at the table they built. It is the table you build yourself.

We do not water down the vision. We do not soften the language. We do not trade our dignity for access.

We organize. We educate. We show up fully and unapologetically for the communities we serve.

Because freedom has never been given. It has only ever been claimed by the people who refused to settle for anything less.

That is who we are. That is why we do this work.

Extreme heat is a public health crisis — and Atlanta is fighting back.

JUST Health is proud to invite you to ATL Hydrates Together, a powerful community event launching through our Climate Change, Health & Equity (CCHE) initiative alongside community residents and local partners who are committed to making Atlanta a safer, more equitable city for everyone.

As temperatures across the country continue to break records, we know that extreme heat hits some of us harder than others. Black communities, unhoused neighbors, older adults, outdoor workers, and those without access to cooling resources are on the front lines of this climate health crisis — they deserve action.

That's why we're launching a community-powered hydration station and resource hub, a tangible, community-led solution designed to meet people where they are and provide real relief.

Join us for:
💬 Honest conversations about heat, health & equity
Resources and engagement opportunities to keep your community informed
Light refreshments & giveaways
Real connection with residents and partners driving community-led change

A new stadium doesn't fix your neighborhood.
A new development doesn't guarantee your community benefits.
And yet, cities across the South keep making billion-dollar investments in projects that look like progress — while the people who built these communities, who showed up, who stayed, are being priced out, pushed out, and left out of the conversation entirely.

When cities grow, we have to ask — who is this really for? Who had a seat at the table when these decisions were made? Whose needs were centered, and whose were ignored? Not all development is created equal. And until equity is built into how we plan, invest, and grow our cities, the people who need the most will continue to see the least.

This evening will center the findings of the Fulton County Reparations Taskforce, chaired by Dr. Karcheik Sims-Alvarado — an important milestone in Atlanta's ongoing work toward equity and restorative justice.

We believe that community-informed policy begins with community-centered conversation. We invite residents, advocates, professionals, and partners to join us for this meaningful dialogue.

We strongly encourage all members of the community — advocates, scholars, residents, and leaders alike — to attend and participate in what is sure to be a powerful and historic evening.
