Built in 1928, the Canton Apartments (now Crestwood) is a three story, brick English Renaissance style apartment building. Gardner Spencer and Associates designed this apartment building to follow a horizontal axis appearing more like an exclusive single-family residence than garden-style apartment complexes that were popular during the period. The project, along with other apartment buildings nearby, served as a buffer between the large residences in Buckhead’s affluent neighborhoods and the rapid commercialization along Peachtree Road. The Canton Apartments is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Robert Maddox home was located where the Governor’s Mansion is today. Maddox was born in 1870 and died in 1965. He was Chairman of the Board of the Atlanta & Lowry National Bank part of which had been founded by his father. In 1908, he served as a Fulton County Commissioner and the next year he was elected Atlanta's 39th Mayor. He had an active term, issuing the city's first large bond ($3 million), which was used for new schools, sewage disposal plants and enlarging the Atlanta Water Works. He lies in the Maddox mausoleum (with his father) in Oakland Cemetery.

The oral history interview with Ivan Allen IV explores his upbringing in Buckhead and his family’s deep connections to Atlanta’s civic, political and business history. He discusses the legacy of his grandfather, former Atlanta Mayor Ivan Allen Jr., who supported the desegregation of public facilities during the Civil Rights era despite strong opposition. Allen also recounts the history of the Ivan Allen Company, a family office supply business that grew into a major regional enterprise before being sold in 1999. Much of the interview focuses on his work with Buckhead Heritage, an organization dedicated to preserving local historic sites and documenting community history. Throughout the interview, Allen reflects on how Buckhead has changed while emphasizing the importance of preserving its historical and civic legacy.

This well is located at the corner of Peachtree Way and Demorest in the hole. A sign near the well reads “the children used to get little pebbles over their shoulders into the water to make a wish.” From a History of Peachtree Heights East, in memory of Bill Bell, dedicated neighborhood Historian.
