To the 6th Episcopal District Women’s Missionary Society,
missionaries on all levels, and friends—
When God speaks, you have the option to listen or not. If you choose to listen you will be at peace with yourself and what the Lord has for you. I Sylvia Moore, am profoundly grateful for the 6 years that God allowed me to serve as President of the 6th District WMS. This journey has been meaningful, impactful, and deeply rooted in intentional work. Every assignment, every challenge, and every victory has required resilience, prayer, and unwavering faith. Through it all, I remained committed to the calling God placed on my life, never stepping outside of His will for the sake of the work. My service has always been grounded in purpose, integrity, and love for God’s people.
I have built relationships across this district, and across our international Zion. As I leave this seat as the 6th District President of the Women’s Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, I extend heartfelt thanks to God, Bishop and Supervisor Jackson for their appointment and to Bishop and Supervisor Mitchell for the opportunity to continue to serve. I also thank the—faithful missionaries who did not think it robbery to support the work of missions.
Your prayers and your belief in the mission strengthened me more than you know.
Although my season in this office has come to a close, my work as a missionary continues. I will remain committed to serving, supporting, and uplifting the 6th District in every way God allows. My service and my heart for missions will continue to speak for me.
I give praise to the newly appointed 6th District Women's Missionary Society President, Lisa Johnson-Whigham as I pass the baton. This is your season!
I thank you again for the honor of serving. May God bless each of you, and may the work of missions continue to flourish in His name.
