"Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral question of our time-the need for man to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to violence and oppression." "One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one hasa moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws..... One who breaks an unjust law must do so openly, and lovingly and with a willingness to accept the penalty." "I am in Atlanta Georgia and surrounding States because injustice is here.... just as the Apostle Paul left his villiage of Tarsus and carried the gospel of jesus christ to the far corners of the Greco-Roman world, so am I compelled to carry the gospel of freedom beyond my own home town of Toledo,Ohio." "In our own nation the Boston Tea Party represented a massive act of civil disobedience." ..

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New Order Responds to Incident Involving 15-Year-Old Girl and Toledo Police Officer

New Order is deeply concerned regarding the recent incident involving a 15-year-old girl and an officer from the Toledo Police Department. Reports of a minor being physically harmed during an interaction with law enforcement are both alarming and unacceptable, and they demand immediate attention and transparency.

Our organization stands firmly in support of the young individual and her family during this difficult time. We recognize the emotional and physical impact such incidents can have, not only on the victim but on the broader community as well. Situations involving youth should always be handled with the highest level of care, professionalism, and restraint.

New Order is calling for a thorough, independent investigation into the events that took place. It is essential that all facts are brought to light and that accountability is upheld where necessary. We also urge local officials and law enforcement leadership to engage in open and honest communication with the community to restore trust.

Furthermore, this incident highlights the ongoing need for enhanced training, oversight, and policies that prioritize de-escalation, especially when interacting with minors. Protecting our youth must remain a top priority at all times.

New Order remains committed to advocating for justice, fairness, and the safety of all individuals. We will continue to monitor this situation closely and support efforts that lead to truth, accountability, and meaningful change.
