🏀🎨📚 From basketball and sports to math and helping others, our L.I.T.eracy League students are showing us that greatness comes in many forms!
At our kickoff party, students shared the talents, interests, and personal strengths that make them who they are. One student even shared how he balances sports, homework, chores, self-care, and sleep! 👏🏾

These are more than introductions. They’re opportunities for students to practice using their voices, celebrate their individuality, and recognize the value they bring to their community.

The C.T. Vivian Foundation is investing in students as they lead, invest in themselves, and thrive.

📚✨ A NEW NAME. A NEW CHAPTER. THE SAME MISSION.

We kicked off the school year with the students of McNair Middle School as we officially introduced what was formerly known as Learn to Read — now L.I.T.eracy League: Lead. Invest. Thrive.

But this is more than a name change.

L.I.T.eracy League is about helping students discover that reading is more than a classroom skill — it’s a tool for learning, confidence, creativity, critical thinking and opportunity.

Through engaging reading experiences and meaningful conversations around books, students are encouraged to LEAD with knowledge, INVEST in their growth, and THRIVE in every space they enter.

The kickoff was just the beginning. 📖💡

We’re excited to see where these students’ curiosity, voices and love of reading take them next.

In recorded remarks following his 2013 Presidential Medal of Freedom, Rev. C.T. Vivian reflected on what it means to truly serve others:

“If you’re not changing things for the benefit of the greater society, then you’re not about much anyway.”
