The Ark provides emergency financial assistance, financial education, & asset building programs to low income working families when they are faced with an unexpected financial crisis.

From a financial roadblock to lasting stability. 💙

When you are living on a tight budget, one unexpected emergency can derail everything. For Mr. B, a single father, a sudden car repair bill forced him into a high-interest predatory title loan just to keep his head above water.

Realizing the burden was becoming impossible, he turned to The Ark. Thanks to our incredible partnership with First American Bank & Trust, we stepped in and refinanced his predatory loan into a manageable 3.5% interest loan. ✨

Today, the crushing weight of that debt is gone, and Mr. B can focus on what matters most: providing a stable, secure home for his child. Your support makes these life-changing safety nets possible!

When the local restaurant where Ms. S worked suddenly closed its doors, her steady life was thrown into uncertainty. Although she was offered a position at a new location, the weeks without a paycheck during the transition created a financial gap she couldn’t bridge alone. Soon, Ms. S, a hardworking single mother of two, received a notice to vacate her home.
The Ark stepped in during this critical window, providing the rental assistance needed to stop the eviction in its tracks. Because of this support, Ms. S and her children remained safely housed. Today, Ms. S is working full-time at her new location and is thriving.

Meet Ms. H, a hardworking single mother of two living in Madison County. ❤️

Our Neighbor, Ms.H had to take leave from work for medical reasons. Facing a recovery period without pay is incredibly stressful for any family, but Ms. H kept her focus exactly where it needed to be: on healing and getting back on her feet for her kids.

Ms. H will be returning to work soon, and now with the peice of mind that her housing remains stable for her and her children.

When a neighbor faces a temporary crisis, we step in to make sure a medical setback doesn’t mean losing stability at home.

Last year alone, we distributed nearly $200,000 to keep families in their homes, and roughly $100,000 of that went directly to supporting single mothers facing unexpected crises.

Whether it’s a blown tire, a cut in work hours, or a family emergency, these “small” hurdles shouldn’t lead to homelessness.
