Hanover Community Support Services HCSS is a non-profit organization that provides support to citizens with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and substance use disorder.

My name is Chase Caddell and I’m graduating from Grace Christian School. I plan to attend Christopher Newport University in the fall and major in Kinesiology. I enjoy playing basketball, baseball and golf. I have enjoyed volunteering at River City Inclusive Gym during high school. My experiences working with the special needs community have taught me lessons that I will be able to carry with me in my future. I am grateful to HCSS for this scholarship opportunity.

Hi everyone! My name is Julianna Kimes and I am a senior at Atlee High School! I will be attending James Madison University in the fall and plan on majoring in Marketing! I have been a part of the HCSS council for 3 years now and am currently the Youth Seat. I have loved getting to help out with Open Gyms, mental health awareness month and Ms.Hanover Abilities. I also have had the opportunity to help out with Challenger Basketball and Soccer as well as Young Life Capernaum! I am so grateful to be able to volunteer for these different events and will cherish all the relationships and memories I have made. HCSS is such an amazing organization and I am so honored to be a part of all the good they do.

Dr. Stephanie Cai holds a PhD in Economics and brings extensive experience in nonprofit and volunteer work, including international service in Ghana and China focused on education, food security, and community development, as well as domestic contributions through church-based initiatives supporting early childhood development and humanitarian aid. As a first-generation immigrant, she is deeply committed to giving back to her local community and has sought opportunities to support vulnerable populations through leadership, program coordination, research-informed approaches, and direct assistance.
