Tonight was our last Arts Night Out (ANO) of the school year! Outside chalk, May Flower baskets, pizza dinner, an exciting game of Singo, and campfire songs with one of our student board members and her sister.

We hosted 3 Arts Night Out events this year and we could not have done it without the support of V.L. Murray PTO and Crozet Elementary School PTO. Thank you for being gracious hosts and allowing us to be in your schools.

ANO is a fundraiser for us, and to help us keep tuition low and be able to provide supplies (and pizza dinner) we are very thankful for Charlottesville Dental for sponsoring all three ANO events.

AWE is looking for volunteers to join our Arts Night Out committee. We have found a great road map that makes planning very easy from start to finish. The committee needs volunteers who are great with behind the scenes details (registration, marketing, supplies) and also volunteers who like to lead art activities.

AWE has opened the Student Board application for the 2026- 2027 school year. Student requirements are:
1. A rising Junior or Senior at WAHS
2. Demonstrate a commitment to participating in Arts education at WAHS
3.Must be involved in one or more of the arts programs at WAHS
4. Complete the Student Board application
5. Receive a recommendation from a WAHS arts teacher or AWE board member.

Student Board members attend the AWE meetings, support AWE events (Arts Night Out, ArtsFest, Arts and Writing), and other events as we schedule throughout the year.

Student Board members provide excellent insight and support in helping AWE shine a light on the arts in our community.
