AATA welcomes an open, honest, and respectful dialogue on issues impacting the profession of art therapy. Our goal is to share ideas and information with as many individuals as possible and our policy is to accept the majority of comments made to our channel. • Defamation to a person or people,
• Name calling and/or personal attacks,
• Comments that are factually inaccurate,

• Comments that infringe on copyrights,
• Spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly on a profile,
• Other comments that the AATA Social Media team deems inappropriate. Repeated violations of the AATA comment policy may cause the author to be blocked from the AATA’s social media profiles. Join us for our next virtual CE session, Beyond Physical Recovery: Art Therapy Approaches for Traumatic and Acquired Brain Injury, Sept. 8.

In this presentation, we will explore traumatic brain and acquired brain injuries and examine and describe the cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial impact of brain injury across the rehabilitation continuum. The role of art therapy will be demonstrated as a therapeutic approach for supporting emotional adjustment, identity reconstruction, resilience, and participation in life following neurological injury. We will examine the multiple ethical, legal, and professional considerations in supporting clients in and out of the hospital setting.

This session will include an art-making directive. Participants are encouraged to have art materials available so they can fully engage in the experiential activity.

The session is FREE for AATA Student Members and discounted for Professional Members.
