IDWeek is pleased to announce that Arjun Srinivasan, MD, will present this year's SHEA Lectureship, “The Privilege of Service: Lessons in Humility and Grace.”

Dr. Srinivasan, Deputy Chief Medical Officer at The Joint Commission Enterprise, brings more than two decades of expertise in infectious diseases, infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship. A former CDC and Johns Hopkins leader, he has helped shape national efforts to prevent health care-associated infections and advance responsible antibiotic use.

IDWeek is pleased to announce that Celine Gounder, MD, ScM, FIDSA, will present this year's Joseph E. Smadel Lecture, “Where We're Needed Now: Building a Career of Impact in Infectious Diseases as the Ground Shifts.”

Dr. Gounder is an infectious diseases physician, epidemiologist, medical journalist and CBS News medical correspondent. Her career has spanned global health emergencies — from the Ebola epidemic in West Africa and research on TB/HIV control measures in southern Africa and Brazil to serving on the Biden-Harris Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board and as Assistant Commissioner of Health for TB at the NYC Department of Health.
